Assessment scales used in Healthy Psychology
1. Scale used for anxiety disorder:
 GAD- 7. The GAD-7 was developed as a brief scale for anxiety and scores
common anxiety symptoms.
2. Scale used for stress:
 The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) is the most widely used psychological
instrument for measuring the perception of stress.
3. Scale used for depression:
 Montgomery – Asberg Depression Rating Scales (MADRS) measures severity
of depression in individuals 18 years and older.

Assessment scales used in School and Educational Psychology


1. Scale used for Learning disabilities in Students:
 Learning Disability Evaluation Scale (LDES; McCarney, 1996) was
developed for educators to identify students with learning disabilities using
observations.
2. Scale used for Intelligence measurement:
 Pictorial Test of Intelligence – second edition (PTI – 2).
3. Scale used to measure teacher’s attitude towards students:
 Teacher Efficacy Scale (TES) is to measure teachers’ attitude towards working
with students. There are two versions of the scale:
i. The long form (Gibson and Dembo, 1984)
ii. The short form (Hoy, W.K. & Woolfolk, 1993). 

Assessment scales used in Forensic Psychology


1. Scale used for Personality assessment:
 Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI, 1940), and second
revised version (The MMPI – II, 1989) is a psychological test that assesses
personality traits and psychopathology.
2. Scale used for criminal responsibility and insanity:
 Rogers Criminal Assessment Scales (R-CRAS) provides the forensic
psychologist or psychiatrist with an experiential based approach to evaluating
criminal responsibility.
3. Scale used to assess the aura of the offender at the time of offense and the motivation
of criminal etc.:
 The rating scale of criminal responsibility for mentally disordered offenders
(RSCRs).
Assessment scales used in Sports Psychology
1. Scale used to measure emotional intelligence of athlete for predicting overall well-
being and success:
 Emotional Intelligence (EI) (EQi-2.0). The EQi 2.0 can lead to dramatic
increases in performance, interaction with others, and leadership potential.
2. Scale used to measure athletes coping skills:
 The Athletic Coping Skills Inventory 28 (“ACSI-28”).
3. Scale used to measure the psychological readiness to return to sports after an injury:
 ACL-RSI Scale. It includes 3 domains: emotions, confidence, and risk
appraisal.
