Flight Attendant Position Requirements

Note: this is not a comprehensive list of all job duties and responsibilities

 High School Diploma or equivalent required.


 Height and weight must allow for safe operation of the aircraft and may not exceed specific aircraft
dimensions (for example, must be able to sit in jumpseat and fasten the harness, move throughout
the cabin aisle, and operate emergency exits). For your safety, your height must be between 5’0” to
6’0” without shoes. Your ability to meet these requirements will be verified at Initial New Hire
training. There are no exceptions to this policy.
 You must be physically able to perform tasks that require frequent walking, bending below ankle
level and reaching above shoulder level; open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing
up to 45 pounds; push and pull beverage cart weighing up to 250 pounds; and lift, store, transport
and reach for items including heavy baggage.
 You must accrue seniority and vacation/user time to bid for and be awarded specific days off,
including events that have already been scheduled like weddings, graduations, holidays, etc.
 You must be able to safely perform duties in various conditions, including (but not limited to) cabin
altitude pressure changes, equilibrium changes, turbulence, and confined work spaces.
 You must be able to work in an environment with exposure to dust, gas, or fumes, changes in
temperature and/or humidity and exposure to extreme temperatures.
 You must be able to work in an environment with exposure to nut/food or animal allergens and
effectively manage allergies while performing duties in-flight or on the ground.
 You must be able to adequately see and hear to perform all tasks and duties of this position. (Vision
should not exceed 20/40 corrected and hearing loss exceeding 40 decibels must be corrected.)
 You must be able to clearly communicate, write, and understand information in the English
language.
 Willing and able to provide first aid treatment to passengers.
 Willing and able to assist passengers including disabled, elderly, unaccompanied minors, and
incapacitated passengers.
 Have a basic understanding and ability to operate a computer and personal portable electronic
devices.
 For this position, you must be able to travel freely between Canada, Mexico, and Bahamas without
restrictions. Please note that some past criminal convictions, including DUIs, may prohibit travelers
from gaining Canadian clearance without a Temporary Resident Permit or Criminal Rehabilitation.
All applicants must verify their ability to travel in and out of Canada unrestricted.
 You must successfully pass an FBI background and fingerprint check. Any criminal misdemeanor or
felony convictions, including DUIs in the last five years plus any time spent on probation, could
make you ineligible for the flight attendant position until the required time limit is met, and the
Canadian Criminal Rehabilitation process has been completed or a Temporary Residency Permit is
obtained.
 It is necessary to wear a company issued uniform and compliant face mask/covering when
required.
