Unloading and loading of luggage, cargo and mail on and off commercial aircrafts in accordance with
Company and Airport procedures and in line with the relevant training received. Driving and operating
specialized ground service equipment and commercial vehicles. To offer the highest levels of customer
care and exceed passenger expectations of the airline travel experience.
Provide a professional and efficient service to the airlines in accordance with the agreed
standard levels.
Loading and offloading on and from aircraft manually or mechanically in accordance with the
relevant handling procedures.
Move cargo, baggage and mail on and off the aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport
terminal, air cargo facilities and other aircrafts (where applicable).
Responsible for the baggage reconciliation and segregation as per Company and airlines
procedures.
Prepare equipment and materials to service and aircraft within the designated time and safety
requirements.
Read and interpret aircraft instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading
manifests and baggage / cargo / mail routing tags.
Maintain an exemplary behaviour.
Take initiative to assist the Crew Chief and his group to improve operational development.
Report any security irregularities.
Actively promote Menzies Aviation Group to internal and external customers.
Ensure services are provided in accordance with Customers’ Service Agreements and current
legislation.
To carry out all Ground Handling related activities as directed by the Company through its
policies, procedures and training to facilitate the success of the operation in which you have
been trained, including the following:
o Fully comply with the Company Health & Safety and Training policies
o Fully comply with the Company and Airport Security Regulations
o Fully comply with Company operating procedures
o Fully comply with the Local Legislation
Implement and adhere to policies and procedures as directed in the Company Handbook.
Responsibility for not only your own safety but that of your colleagues, passengers, equipment
and aircraft.
To report any incidents/accidents with yourself, other staff or aircraft immediately to the
accountable Managers/Controller, Dispatcher, Captain or First Officer.
To report any damage, fault or irregularity to the aircraft to the appropriate body irrespective of
the circumstances.
Carry out area hazard checks.
Carry out aircraft inspections.
To ensure the best use of all the Company’s resources and assets at all times.
Responsible for a safe, secure and correct arrival to departure of aircraft from its parking stand.
Ensuring all correct baggage has been loaded and made accountable for that destination
whether it be on the aircraft or in the baggage sorting area in line with Triple-A procedures.
Ensuring that items of Company or Customer property and equipment are properly maintained
and protected. Immediately report any damage, fault or irregularity to your line manager.
To gather, input and process all data and documentation necessary for the fulfilment of the
success of the operation by manual, automated or computerised systems, including report
writing.
Drive and maintain all company equipment and vehicles including passenger coaches (where
applicable).
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the relevant training
received.
Position and remove ground service equipment necessary for the aircraft turnaround in a safe
and efficient manner, in accordance with the relevant training received.
Marshall inbound and outbound passengers when required.
Perform de-icing and snow clearing procedures when required in accordance with the training
requirements and relevant company and airline procedures.
Identify areas of improvement within in the working area.
Ensure safety is never compromised whilst fully complying with the Health & Safety Procedures.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Any other reasonable duty as requested within the relevant responsibility area.
Mandatory to attend training courses related to their job duties as may be arranged by Company.
Ensures and takes immediate actions in order to prevent any irregularities in the activity.
To wear the uniform in accordance with the MA Uniform & Appearance Policy.
To be able to understand and follow instructions sent by direct superiors and MA management
team and to be capable to take fair decisions in accordance with the job description.
Establish and maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers to comply with
Company policy and health, safety and security regulations.
