Q1: List six types of computers that are
designed for use by a single person
A1: Following are the six type of computers that are
designed to use by single person
1- Desktop Computer.
2-Laptop Computer.
3-PDA.
4-Tablets.
5-Workstations.
6-Smart Phones.

Desktop Computers:
It contains a large box called System unit that contains
most of the essentials. The monitor, keyboard, and
mouse all connect to it using cables. A desktop computer
is a personal computer designed to be used regularly in
one place on a desk or table because of its size and
energy requirements. The most common suspension has
a power supply case, memory, bus, and other electronic
devices, disk storage, keyboard and mouse input;
computer monitor, speakers, and, most often, the output
printer.
Laptop Computers:
A laptop, is a small, portable personal computer with a
"clamshell" form factor, typically having a thin LCD or LED
computer screen mounted on the inside of the upper lid
of the clamshell and an alphanumeric keyboard on the
inside of the lower lid. The clamshell is opened up to use
the computer.

Palmtop Computers:
A Palmtop PC was an approximately pocket calculator-
sized, battery-powered computer compatible with the
IBM Personal Computer in a horizontal clamshell design
with integrated keyboard and display. It could be used
like a subnotebook, but was light enough to be
comfortably used handheld as well.

Tablets:
A tablet computer, commonly shortened to tablet, is a
mobile device, typically with a mobile operating system
and touchscreen display processing circuitry, and a
rechargeable battery in a single, thin and flat package.
Tablets, being computers, do what other personal
computers do, but lack some input/output (I/O) abilities
that others have. Modern tablets largely resemble
modern smartphones, the only differences being that
tablets are relatively larger than smartphones, with
screens 7 inches (18 cm) or larger, measured diagonally,
and may not support access to a cellular network.

Workstations:
Workstation computers tend to be built for very specific
purposes, and their internal components will reflect that.
Unlike standard desktop computers, workstations
typically support ECC (error correcting) RAM, and have
advanced storage capabilities.
The product support and warranties are also much more
robust, which is a major factor in driving up the cost of
these components.
The major CPU, and GPU manufacturers offer product
lines specifically tailors to workstation tasks.

Smart Phones:
A smartphone is a mobile phone that includes advanced
functionality beyond making phone calls and sending text
messages. Most smartphones have the capability to
display photos, play videos, check and send e-mail, and
surf the Web. Modern smartphones, such as the iPhone
and Android based phones can run third-party
applications, which provides limitless functionality.
While smartphones were initially used mostly by
business users, they have become a common choice for
consumers as well. Thanks to advancements in
technology, modern smartphones are smaller and
cheaper than earlier devices.
Q2: Why main frame systems usually limited
in number of task they perform
A2: main frame systems usually limited in number of task
they perform Because mainframe computers are very
special equipment.
There is a reason why servers, workstations and
Mainframes are not terms that refer to the same thing.
Often when an organization needs a machine that can do
the job of validating the processor (such as weather
modeling, numerical, AI, etc.) they can buy a machine
that can do that job very well but not to fit well for
operational purposes.

Historically the mainframe simply referred to a powerful

medium-sized computer that an organization can use
(like a server today) most of its computer needs, but in
the end computer hardware became easier to buy and
made it much easier to make the organization’s point of
purchase those activities.

Mainframes today have some resemblance to their

ancestors because they tend to be super powerful
computers but rarely found in modern organizations and
reserved for special tasks, these functions are those that
require a powerful computer, everything else a given
organization wants to do they know and will do with
other computer hardware.
