Elastic Deflection Maximum Deflection

The document summarizes deflection checks for a concrete slab. In short term loading, the maximum deflection of 7.5 mm passed the allowable deflection of 21 mm. In long term loading, the maximum deflection of 12.83 mm passed the allowable deflection of 16 mm. Therefore, the slab thickness was determined to be adequate to pass both short and long term deflection checks.

Short term Deflection maximum Deflection is 7.50 mm.

Thus, using allowable deflection of L (in short

span) /180 = (4000-250)/180 = 21mm. Thus, PASSED in Short term deflection.

Another checking using perimeter = 14*1000/180 = 77mm

LONG TERM Deflection maximum Deflection is 12.83 mm. Thus, using allowable deflection of L (in
short span) /240 = 375/240 = 16mm. Thus, PASSED in long term deflection.

Therefore the slab thickness is adequate and we can proceed to design of frames and foundation.
