"This house believes that getting a university diploma is important"

According to Oxford dictionary, diploma is a certificate awarded by an educational establishment to that

someone has successfully completed a course of study.

Getting a university diploma is such an important step in life that it has become a central part of our
dreams. The benefits of a college education include career opportunities and overall happiness and
stability. College can open up unexpected opportunities that aren't always there for those who haven't
engaged in a higher level of education. That combination of benefits is why so many people make the
investment of time and money to go to college. Oftentimes it's not necessarily what you study, but the
fact that you studied something at all.

In this case, related to the motion, we, as the government side, believe that getting a university diploma
is important. To support this motion, we have four arguments to argue why it is important for everyone
to have a university diploma.

First, Increase access to job opportunities. A degree enables you to qualify for these additional
opportunities and offers you more flexibility in where you choose to work.

Secondly, Knowledge and skills. Gaining knowledge is what makes a degree valuable. College prepares
you to think critically and understand complex subjects. It also instills crucial skills like organization, self-
discipline and the ability to complete tasks from start to finish.

Thirdly, To avoid discrimination and get respect. There is an ongoing discrimination against people
without an university diploma. Education is highly valued in society as a whole. We will regard someone
with some level of education or research in the field they are working on with more respect than
someone who does not.
