Why do people go to university or colleges?

In high school lives, students are faced with one big question: should they go to a university or a college? Students
go to university for a variety of reasons: academic interest, future career, or social life. Sometimes we just
need a fresh start in life. We need to put away our old habits and our old self, and become the persons we were
meant to be. However, there are many important reasons a young person should consider going to college or a
university

The first thing that perhaps anyone would think about going to college is to get a higher level of education. We may
have studied and learned a lot at school, but that’s just the general knowledge that anyone should have. If we want to
acquire an increased knowledge, especially the professional knowledge for a particular job or a specialist field of
work, university and college would be the most appropriate place. It is true that many degrees do not prepare us for
the real world in terms of what we learn. However, a college education is an opportunity to learn what we love. Take
the time to enjoy learning what we are truly passionate about.

Another common reason for going to university is that a college education often leads to a better career in the future.
In many countries, companies tend to look for university graduates to fill positions that have greater responsibility
and higher pay, such as managers and supervisors. Furthermore, for certain professions including doctors, lawyers,
and school teachers, a university degree is a requirement. In addition, some universities provide students with
opportunities to acquire practical skills that can be useful in the real world.

The last reason we can see for going to university is for the love of learning itself. It’s true that we may be able to
learn from great tutors and have access to information, and resources that we would otherwise not get to enjoy. So,
for example, if i love history, a degree will offer me the chance to explore this passion further, as if learning was my
full-time job.

In conclusion, students may have different reasons for going to university. Although it’s not always easy to
get through the gate of college or university, the benefit is so obvious and we will have an advantage, a really good
start in our career with all the knowledge, the experiences and a university or college degree.
