PRIMARY RESEARCH IN 2015-16
PROJECT

Premise: Survey and Discussion with 50 Government teachers, 100 students from
5 communities and 11 School principals

Observations:
1. There exists major disconnect between what they learn in school and what
their communities are like
2. Verbal and physical violence exists in classrooms
3. Teachers do not have the bandwidth to focus on activities that are not related
to academics
4. Kids lack platforms for holistic development
5. Academic success does not help them with overall success
6. Kids lack role models in their school and community
7. Schools do not have the bandwidth to offer multiple interests clubs
