Technical Excellence

Metsec plc 5
Custom Roll Forming is a specialist designer of bespoke and standard metal profiles, capable

of producing virtually any cold roll-formed section including open, closed, welded and pierced

in almost any form and a variety of material specifications.

Custom Roll Forming Division

Custom Roll Forming manufactures a vast range of sections, from simple shapes

to very complex profiles, in gauges from 0.4mm thick up 8mm thick, with irregular

shaped welded tubes a speciality. By adding value at every stage from design, to

producing the tooling, to pre-and post manipulation services, Custom Roll Forming

consistently delivers cost effective components in the shortest possible time.

Metsec plc 7
Custom Roll Forming’s technical expertise

and manufacturing capabilities are

supported by a genuine commitment to

providing excellent customer service.

Custom Roll Forming promotes partnership working

to ensure it understands and meets customers’

individual needs from the design concept stage to

delivering orders, in full and on time. The driving aim

is to consistently provide superior processes and

service to help customers maintain their

Metsec plc 9
Metsec’s bespoke and standard metal profiles are used in
hundreds of different applications in a wide range of sectors.

Applications for Custom Roll Forming

Metsec plc 11
Metsec’s Profile Manipulation division

specialises in precision bending and general

manipulation of metal profiles into finished Profile Manipulation Division

components. Its main market is the supply of

standard and irregular shaped welded tubes for

the production of safety cabs and ROPS/FOPS

structures for agricultural vehicles, excavators,

construction vehicles and fork lift trucks. It also

supplies structural components to commercial

vehicles and rings for liquid tankers.

Metsec plc 13
Profile Manipulation offers a wide range of additional manipulation services,

including bending, sweeping, laser cutting, drilling and fabrication, as well

as some sub assembly work.

The division uses its engineering expertise, including 3D modelling software

and finite element analysis (FEA), to simulate bending of profiles, and its full

prototyping facilities to help customers’ design teams develop and test their

concepts. Metsec’s own technology enables Profile Manipulation to work

with a wide range of materials including mild and stainless steels

and aluminium.

of end uses for its cold roll-formed sections.

Applications For Profile Manipulation

Metsec plc 17
Metsec’s Window Components division is one of the UK’s leading

specialist producers of steel reinforcing section for the PVCu window,

door and conservatory market.

Advanced manufacturing equipment ensures efficient

production and fast, flexible delivery to both systems

companies and fabricators. Window Components

supplies standard sections direct from its extensive

Window Components Division

stockholding and also offers bespoke sections,

including cut to length profiles and pre-pierced door

sections. Under an ex-stock service, Window

Components will roll sections to a customer’s forecasts

and deliver to an agreed schedule.

Metsec plc 19
Window Components differentiates itself in a commodity

driven industry by value engineering its products. The

division’s technical expertise reduces material content

without compromising performance, producing the

Window Components Division

most structurally efficient and cost effective components.

Window Components makes the resources of its

Technology Centre and prototyping facilities available to

help customers design their optimum profile. Holding an

extensive library of tooling minimises their development

costs and timescales. All components are quality

assured and supplied inkjet marked with customers’

details for full traceability.

Metsec plc 21
Quality is paramount at
Metsec Engineering Products.

ISO 9001 approved, all the divisions are continuously

measured against a range of key performance

indicators such as delivery of orders on time and

in full. But success today is not enough and Metsec

Engineering Products is constantly working to develop

new ideas, new technology and new capabilities to

help keep its customers ahead.
