ISLAMIAT NOTES :

Prophethood ch5
Fundamental belief serves the foundation of a religion is
called its articles of faith.
Belief of Prophethood is an article of faith in Islam.
Prophethood or Risalat gives to these people of Allah.
Prophets or messenger convey Allah’s messages and His
teachings to people.
The messages of all prophets are the same ‘’Worship Allah,
as there is no god for you in His message.’’
We should never refer to a prophet a s Allah’s son. It is
forbidden to say that Allah is a partner or a son of Allah.
The Holy Quran has expressly forbidden Muslims to ascribe
partners to Allah.
In Islam Allah created man to worship Him and to lead a
religious and good life based on His teaching and guidance.
He sent them to mankind from amongst themselves for their
guidance and reformation because a man can best serve as a
guide and an example of his own race.
We should believe in the first and last prophet.
Concept of Worship of Islam

Worship is a comprehensive term. It includes all open acts

which are liked by Allah and which are means of winning His
pleasure. The Concept of worship in Islam includes almost
everything in any individual activities.
The Quran says: ‘’ I have only created Jinn and men that they
may serve Me.’’ (51:56)
The Concept of Worship in Islam is so comprehensive that it
includes all the positive activities of an individual. It
regulates human behavior at all levels-individual, social,
economic, political and spiritual. It trains the individual in
such a way that he loves his Creator the most and thereby
gains the will to wipe out all evil and oppression from
society.

Importance of Dua
Allah created man to be Khaliah on earth
Gave him sight, touch, hearing and understanding.
Taught him speech and enlightened him with what is right
and wrong.

In the Quran it says in every difficulty there is a relief.

In problems we cannot achieve we turn to Allah, such
application is called Dua.
The Holy Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬is said to have called Dua an essential
part and the weapon of a believer.
Another saying is ‘’Verily, your Lord is shy of His servsnts
when they raise up their hands to Him in supplication to
return them empty’’
Verse 186 of Surah Baqarah says, ’I listen to the prayer of
every supplicant when he calls on Me.’’
The most beautiful prayer taught in the Holy Quran is Surah
Fatihah. It is an essential part of all Muslim worship. Public
or private.
Prayers are for man’s own spiritual education and
consolation.

Zakat
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam
Zakat is always mentioned with salat:’’ And establish regular
prayer and give regular charity…’’
Zakat is an act of worship performed by giving away a
portion of one’s wealth for the benefit of the poor.
The prophet had described Zakat as wealth taken from the
rich and given to the poor and needy.
Other pillars of Islam benefit who performs it but Zakat
benefits the poor and needy and who performs it too.
The Holy Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬was ordered: ’Of their goods take alms,
That so thou mightiest purify and sanctify them … …’’.
The Quran says: ’If ye loan to Allah a beautiful loan, He will
double it to your(credit)… …’’.
Zakat is payable at the rate of 2 ½% on cash, gold and silver.
A person who possesses 52 ½% tolas of silver or 7½%tolas
of gold is liable to pay land and commercial goods.
Zakat is to be distributed to …. page 20
Zakat is not to be given to one’s parents or child
Its cannot be given to Non-Muslims, neither can it be given
