Cutting tools Uses

The paring knife is a small,


short-bladed knife, used
for intricate cutting,
peeling, mincing and
dicing

Sharpening stones, or
whetstones, are used to
sharpen the edges of steel
tools such as knives
through grinding and
honing.

A sharpening steel is good


for two things: One, it
smooths out the rough
edge on a blade after you
sharpen a knife on a
whetstone.

It is useful when preparing
particularly tough cuts of
steak, and works well when
broiling or frying the meat.

A can opener (also known


as a tin opener) is a device
used to open steel (not tin)
cans.

A juicer, also known as a


juice extractor, is a tool
used to extract juice from
fruits, herbs, leafy greens
and other types of
vegetables in a process
called juicing.

A kitchen tool, specifically


made for food preparation,
that is more versatile than
a standard pair of cutting
scissors.

grip something and lift it. They are

heating a larger kitchen oven, the

A stove is an appliance used to cook
food by providing heat directly. Some
stoves are enclosed and this leads to
people confusing them for ovens but not
all stoves can cook food as some only
provide heat.

A griddle has a smooth and flat surface,


perfect for cooking breakfast foods like
bacon, sausages, pancakes, home fries,
french toast, and eggs. You can also use
a griddle to make grilled cheese
sandwiches, quesadillas, and anything
else
Baking tools uses

Most commonly, a baking pan will


be used for cakes, but you can
also use a baking pan for treats
such as brownies, muffins and
breads. Use baking pans for
savory items such as meatloaf
and roast vegetables as well. Just
be sure to consider acidity when
making your decision.

Basically a custard cup is a small


glass bowl usually with a handle
and either a short stem or no
stem between the foot and the
bowl. They were made in clear
glass, often lead crystal, in the
Victorian era in England. They
were used for serving individual
portions of custard to guests at
the end of a meal.

Pie plates are used to bake single


crust and double crust pies. They
are also available in a deep-dish
variety that has slanted sides that
are 2 to 2 1/2 inches deep and
range from 9 to 11 inches in
diameter. The deep-dish pie plate
is most often used to bake a
savory dish. A pie plate is also
referred to as a pie tin.

A jelly roll pan is a flat, medium-


sized baking pan meant
for baking the sponge cake part of
a jelly roll, Swiss roll, or bûche de
Noël dessert. A jelly roll consists
of a piece of thin cake rolled into
a cylinder with icing or jelly lining
the inside.
The heavy-duty mixer is a reliable
and durable option for high-
volume bakeries, pizzerias, and
central kitchens that make batter
and dough in-house. These
mixers are great for preparing a
variety of foods, including cake
batter, mashed potatoes, pastry
or pie dough, and pizza dough.

The uses of ring molds for this


purpose are nearly unlimited.
They include forming appetizers,
molding salads, forming crab
cakes and steak tartar and
desserts. The second use for ring
molds is to cook food in a
cylindrical shape. These may
include cylindrical eggs,
pancakes, rice timbales and
mousses.

Generally, industrial ovens


process a raw material at
extremely high temperatures to
perform a heat treatment process.
Typical applications for industrial
ovens include food production,
chemical processing, and even
the electronics industry.

A domestic ice cream maker is a


machine used to make small
quantities of ice cream for
personal consumption. Ice cream
makers may prepare the mixture
by employing the hand-cranking
method or by employing an
electric motor.

Wooden spoons give you a


firm strong handle to hold,
making stirring easier and
more effective–and without any
fear of the handle breaking. It
also provides you with a solid
tool for scraping things off the
sides and bottom of your pan.
When introduced to high
temperatures, metal spoons
can get really hot.

A long cylindrical shaped kitchen


utensil, generally used to roll out
various types of dough when
making food items such as bread,
pastries and cookies. This tool
also works well for crushing
crackers and breadcrumbs.
Other tools uses
Bowls are versatile tools in the kitchen
which help us to handle and prepare
food. They can be found in various sizes
and capacities and made of various
materials such as stainless steel with
plastic being the preferred option, given
its strength and durability with a lot of
use and frequent washing in the kitchen.

You can use them for everything


from mixing liquids, to containing leaks,
to transferring products from container
to pails. Or, even as a work surface when
sorting new products and cleaning parts.
Trays using a heavy duty polyethylene
construction (HDPE) have a ribbed
bottom.

Spoons are the primary utensil used


for eating; forks are used to push
foods such as rice onto the spoon as
well as their western usage for
piercing the food.

As a set, the serving fork and serving


spoon are used as tongs to serve food
that requires two implements, such as a
tossed salad or pasta.

Unlike the kitchen island, a work table


offers extra counter space for prepping
food and getting work done in the
kitchen but it doesn't focus on also
adding storage space. However, the two
functions can be combined in a hybrid
design.

exactly that: tools that were made
to scrape pastes, batters, and other
ingredients from bowls, plates, and other
surfaces.
It's an excellent tool for whipping cream
or eggs, mixing cake batter and cookie
dough, and making things like icing and
salad dressings
