Non-stick cookware is a common application, where the non-stick coating allows food to brown without
sticking to the pan. Non-stick is often used to refer to surfaces coated with polytetrafluoroethylene
(PTFE), a well-known brand of which is Teflon.
2. SAUCEPAN
A saucepan excels at cooking anything that's mostly liquid. This means it's great for stewing, simmering,
making soups and, unsurprisingly, making sauces like pasta sauce.
3. STOCK POT
Stock pot is a generic name for one of the most common types of cooking pot used worldwide. A stock
pot is traditionally used to make stock or broth, which can be the basis for cooking more complex
recipes. It is a wide pot with a flat bottom, straight sides, a wide opening to the full diameter of the pot,
two handles on the sides, and a lid with a handle on top.
4. SHEET PANS
A go-to for baking cookies and cakes, sheet pans also can be used for making breads and pastries,
roasting vegetables and preparing full meals. Although they often are referred to as baking sheets,
cookie sheets differ in their shape and style.
Use a glass dish for baked goods that bake at a low temperature for a long period of time. Examples
include quick breads like banana bread or pumpkin bread, fruit or custard pies, topped or filled cakes like
coffee cake, and long-baked pasta
dishes.

6. KNIVES
A utensil that has a handle and a blade that may or may not be sharp-edged. Available in a wide variety
of different types and sizes, a knife is used for cutting, chopping, dicing, slicing, mincing, peeling,
separating, and other kitchen tasks where the thin metal shaft of a blade is of value for food preparation.

A spoon for measuring amounts, as in cooking, usually part of a set of spoons of different sizes.

Measuring Cups are used to measure the volume of liquids such as milk, water, oil, or solid powders like
sugar, flour or washing powder.

A wooden spoon is a spoon that is used for stirring sauces and for mixing ingredients in cooking.
A fish spatula (sometimes called a fish turner) is a thin, long spatula with a special shape and design to
flip, move and slip under delicate foods like fish fillets.
11. PEELER
A peeler (vegetable scraper) is a kitchen tool, a distinct type of kitchen knife, consisting of a metal blade
with a slot with a sharp edge attached to a handle, used to remove the outer layer (the "skin" or "peel")
of some vegetables such as potatoes, broccoli stalks, and carrots, and fruits such as apples and pears.
12. WHISK
A whisk is a cooking utensil which can be used to blend ingredients smooth or to incorporate air into a
mixture, in a process known as whisking or whipping. Most whisks consist of a long, narrow handle with
a series of wire loops joined at the end.
13. TONGS
Tongs are the tool that you use to grip something and lift it. They are usually jointed near the handle,
with two grippers at the other end, so that you can one-handedly grasp objects.

15. COLANDER
A colander (or cullender) is a kitchen utensil used to strain foods such as pasta or to rinse vegetables.
The perforated nature of the colander allows liquid to drain through while retaining the solids inside. It is
sometimes also called a pasta strainer or kitchen sieve.

sufficient for most households. As for materials, there are several common materials typically used to
make mixing bowls, each with their own set of attributes and drawbacks.
A kitchen utensil that is used to open or remove the top from a metal can. There are a wide variety of
different designs available ranging from manually operated small tools to automated openers that
quickly and easily remove the top of the can.
