Tooling: To avoid injury, slowly unscrew pressure vent screw,
BCN-1400-8001/1
allowing any pressure to vent before fully removing.

The 1400 Series V-Nav Beacon incorporates the latest robust Spread Spectrum signalling technology that
improves the stability of operations in difficult environments as part of the V-Nav Positioning System.

The small, lightweight, rugged beacon has been designed specifically to withstand harsh conditions and features
a quick release housing. With over 7200 unique identities, the beacon can be easily set up on deck using the
PAM 3510. For ease of use, no internal switches or configuration via a connection is required.

Operation

There is no power switch on the 1400 beacon.

To turn the unit on, the battery must be connected within the beacon. Insert internal assembly into tube pressure vent screw & screw into end cap.
  Replace O-rings if damaged.
Clean and apply O-ring lubricant before re-assembly.

Unless requested 1400 Beacons are shipped with the battery disconnected and set = Apply O‐Ring grease 
to ID 1234 = Clean & Degrease  = Replace part 
Operation Fault Finding

Unique Channel ID’s Did the 1419 Beacon ever work?

0001 to 7199 If the answer is yes, either the battery is discharged or the unit is faulty. Look for mechanical damage.

Commands  Try resetting the beacon by removing the battery and leaving it disconnected for 30 seconds before
reconnection.
All commands and settings to the 1419 are made acoustically using the PAM 3510. For detailed operating
instructions please see the operating manual for the surface systems. If there are no signs of mechanical damage, try replacing the battery.
 
Get ID: The reply field returns the Beacons 4 digit ID If these tests do not help or resolve the problem, contact Applied Acoustic Engineering immediately for technical
assistance.
Change ID: Set the desired ID in the Data Field..
