Case Study Guidelines

1. Describe the fundamental interrelation of the hospitality and


tourism industry. (C2)
2. Discuss the hotel and foodservice classification and different types
Course Learning Outcome of ownership. (A2)
3. Demonstrate teamwork skills in group work related to issues and
practices in the hospitality and tourism industry. (A2)

Type of Assignment Group work

Introduction:
The hospitality and tourism industry has been facing dramatic changes in business nowadays.
The changes within the industry have their challenges and face difficulties in dealing with the
situation. Based on the scenarios given (refer to Appendix 1), students are required to discuss,
analyze and provide feedback related to the topics in the syllabus and to present the work in
a short report. A short report should also include the conclusion, recommendations, and how
to solve the problems.

Instructions:
1. This is a case study assignment and needs to be prepared in a group of 3 or 4 members.
2. This assignment consists of 3 case studies and should be submitted on the due dates
given.
3. Due dates for this case study assignment are on WEEK 6 for CASE STUDY 1, WEEK 8 for
CASE STUDY 2, and WEEK 10 for CASE STUDY 3.
4. Each case study must be submitted using a proper cover page. (Refer to Appendix 2)
5. Any inquiry should be forwarded to your respective lecturer.
