As I have learned the learning materials of learning
activity 1 to Learning activity 4 that discuss about
English for Public Information, I got much knowledges
and skills about short functional text of public
information. There are several points that I got from
learning the material, I am able to :
1. Analyze the social function, generic structure,
language feature, context of the situation,
kinds of public information text such as notice
(notice, warning, caution), poster, graphic,
infographic.
2. Comprehend the definition of each text.
3. Compare and contrast of each text.
4. Know the difference of each text
1. The differences between caution and warning
The main difference between caution and warning
is:
Warning refers to a danger that might result in
severe injury or damage whereas caution indicates
a danger that might result in minor damage or
injury
2. How to differentiate written and spoken language
The differences are
- Spoken language use very informal language
and has natural spoken, while written language
use formal language.
- There can be no abbreviations
Example :
Mobile phone are not allowed (written)
Mobile phone aren’t allowed (spoken)
Hambatan yang dialami adalah :
 Everyone has a different ability, so it must
take longer time to understand the material in
one module.
