Opening by Chief Executive (LB)

LB welcomed the team for the 1stACC meeting for this year and said today’s meeting is mainly to
Discussed and to finalised the decision concerning Core subjects for the Diploma in Hotel
Management and MPU subjects
.
The Academic team has had their respective curriculum review meeting and amended the curriculum
Based on the MQA programme standard. LB said that today’s ACC meeting is a follow-up of
Curriculum Review meeting held on 20 March and 3rd April 2019.

Hotel Management – Core Subjects
 LB said, we have receive constructive feedback from the
MQA panel. According to the panel most of the course
contents are overlapping and contradicting. As such, we

were advised to re-look at the syllabus promptly.
 Listed below are the current module offered and has gone
through the curriculum review.
- Front Office Management
- Introduction to Hospitality
- Supervision in Hospitality Industry
- Housekeeping Management 1
- Housekeeping Management 2
- Food and Beverage Operations 1
- Food and Beverage Operations 2
- Theory of Food
- Kitchen Management
- Hygiene and Safety

 Curriculum Review and design

LB said that DIHM team has reviewed the syllabus,


structure and has designed the syllabus according to MQA
Programme standard and Industry needs. LB got KP to
briefly explain on the changes
KP also state that, the respective subject lecturers have
given their feedback on the subjects taught, according to
the lecturers most of the syllabus are overlapping with
others subjects.

KP said, the attached table 4 are the amended course


outline :

- Housekeeping Management

dated on 3 April 2019 : Curriculum Review for MPU
 In the curriculum review discussion, SU did a comparison
between the MPU Entrepreneur skill and Business Subject
Entrepreneurship module (found in Diploma programme)
has almost the same structure.
 LB said students should benefit from the MPU subject as
well, as such the team would like to propose for the MPU
Entrepreneur skills to be replaced with Critical Thinking.
 SU said, the table 4 for Critical Thinking is being
attached. HO mentioned said that will be a wise decision
to make especially if this is going to benefit the students.

 External Assessor and Industry Advisor comments


KP said that Ms Siti Arijah Wardati attended for the
meeting. SAW has reviewed the changes made and
HO/LB
advised to proceed.
SAW said whatever changes or updates being made, we
should ensure it is always in-line with MQA programme
standard and the industry needs.

 Conclusion

RR concluded that after going through the facts and


relevant documents have advised the relevant staff to
expedite with the submission to MQA.

RR also mentioned that, whatever update, amended or
review must be in-line with MQA programme standard.
And students should benefit from the change.

Please ensure the necessary document is out to MQA by
