Ethics: Activity #3

From the movie "Miracle in Cell No.7"

1. Is the father who got convicted and executed morally responsible for the death of the little girl? Why?
Why not?

No, The father in the film did not intend to injure the young girl; rather, he only wanted to assist her in
recovering from the injury. Even though the father had intellectual problems, he didn't think twice
about saving or aiding the young girl.

2. Did he deserve to be executed? Why? Why not?

No, the father is stating the truth about what happened, and even though he has a kind heart, I find it
difficult to believe in him despite what he has to say.

3. What are the moral values that you learned from the movie? Give a short description (a scenario from
the movie) manifesting the said values.

The finest lesson you can learn from this movie is "Never judge a book by its cover" since in the moment
where the police failed to investigate the accident, they did so primarily because they didn't trust the
father due to his physical attributes and cerebral impairments. Before passing judgment on someone, I
hope that we all know how to consider who they really are and what struggles they have had in life.
