SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO TEACHERS

1. Create the following Word Processing document and save it as TELEVISION. Use Times New
Roman font size 12.

Digital Television
Digital telavision (DTV) is the sending and receiving of moving images and sound by discrete
(digital) signals, in contrast to the analog signals used by analog TV. Digital telavision is more
flexible and efficient than analog telavision. Digital telavision can allow higher-quality images,
sound, and more programming choices than analog telavision.

Internet Protocol Television

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is a system where a digital telavision service is delivered
using Internet Protocol over a network infrastructure, which may include delivery by a broadband
connection. For residential users, IPTV is often bundled with Internet services such as Internet
access and Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP). The commercial bundling of IPTV, VoIP and
Internet access is referred to as “Triple Play”. IPTV is typically supplied by a service provider
using a closed network infrastructure.

2. Create the following Word Processing document to be used as the main document for a mail-
