In cities and towns all over the world, the high volume of traffic is

a problem. What are the causes of this and what actions can be
taken to solve this problem?

Traffic congestion is increasing day by day in most of the urban and rural areas and it
is becoming a deteriorating situation all over the world. There are two major reasons
of increasing traffic and to cope with
this
there are some measures which should be followed by every member of the society.
To begin
with,
first
cause of
this
situation is overpopulation, with the escalating of people all around the world, every
member of the family preferred to have his/her own vehicle, which creates a high
density of volume on roads.
Second
, many of the automobile companies selling cars at low interest rate so nowadays it is
easy to purchase a new car for average people.
Third
cause is lack of proper road and bridges which creates a traffic rush on roads. Buses,
trains and other private vehicles are running on the same road which ultimately
creates road busy all the time. To mitigate
this issues
, the government can create awareness among people to use of public transport and
put heavy taxes on private transport.
Besides
, They should construct some new roads and bridges so that there would be a separate
lane for heavy vehicles. In
this
way, traffic could be controlled and less accidents and congestion can be seen on the
highways.
Furthermore
, they can
also
increase the prices of car so people can think two times before buying the car.
As a result
, people start looking for other alternatives
such
as public transport for travelling. To sum up, local authorities and individuals should
work together to address
this
problem by following some measures. Individuals can use bicycles to ride to shorter
distances.
In many countries there is a shortage of housing due to a growing population. Some people argue that
new towns should be built in the countryside., others argue for the regeneration of cities. What are the
advantages and disadvantages of the building new towns in the countryside?

Today, the more dramatically the population increases, the more gradually the urbanisation develops.
As a result, the lack of housing is one of the national problems that many countries care about. It is
thought advantageous by some that the government should construct new towns in rural areas,
whereas many other people believe that cities should be regenerated. This essay illustrates the benefits
and drawbacks of new towns in the countryside. First of all, there are several advantages when it comes
to the creation of new cities in rural areas. The first benefit is reduction of the difference of living
standard between people who live in the countryside and in urban areas, especially if variuos when
factories are built in the countryside. Consequently, most inhabitants are able to work in these firms and
their life lives does not depend on fields, farms and the weather, like sun, rain or storm. Therefore, their
income remains stable and is higher than a farmers’ profits. As a result, they gain a good standard of
living. In addition, compared to the cost of housing and removing removal of existing structures in the
cities, it is a good idea for people to constructe new towns in the countryside because they have to pay
less money for farmers to move their houses and farms in order to have long and wide space to
construct new infrastructure. On the other hand, people have to invest a great amount of money to
create new and basic infrastructure that includes transportation, water supply, electrical grids. In other
words, new cities are unable to attract people to live in them if they have to suffer bad conditions to
stay. For example, according to vietnam.gov.vn – an official website of Vietnam government, a new city
in Bac Ninh province, which is located north of the capital of Vietnam , has been canceled because of a
shortage of money. As a result, there are no people in the city and the investors can not be paid back.
Moreover, creating new towns wastes money and other resources if people are not able to finish this
work. To sum up, everything has pros and cons. If people have a good plan for creating new cities and
enough money, they can gain more from its benefits and reduce its disadvantages in order to solve the
problem of housing. The faster the urbanisation of the rural areas rises, the easier sooner the lack of
house housing will be resolved.
Some people say that with the development of Internet, Radio has no future.
Do you agree?

In the old days, radio broadcasting was considered as one of the most important and
convenient sources of information. However, with the advent of other forms of mass
media, some people perceive that radio is on the verge of extinction in the future if it
does not undergo any significant change. In my opinion however, the radio will stand
the test of time.

One of the main reasons why radio would not become obsolete soon is that driving
cars is emerging as a way of life across the world. Radio is installed in cars and
listening while driving is a good idea for taking full advantage of their time and
obtaining the latest information, such as news, weather forecast, society, and so forth.
Increase in usage of cars gives more scope for the radios. For those people who have
no time watching the box, radio provides immediate and easy access to information.
Its continued survival is also connected to its high affordability. Radio broadcasting is,
in general, accessible to the audience free of charge. Another obvious advantage is
that the radio set is portable and convenient. On occasions where people cannot watch
TV, read the newspaper or surf the internet, they can resort to the radio.

The advent of other technologies has also reinforced the popularity of radio. For
instance, people can get radio quickly via satellite, the internet and cable nowadays.
There are many other electronic devices, such as mp3 and mp4 players, which help
people enjoy various entertainment programs at their convenience.

However, it has some drawbacks as well. A radio is unable to convey messages with
images and motions as television as the internet does. During bad weather conditions,
it is difficult to tune into the desired frequency, and only limited channels are
available.

To summarize, radio broadcasting has more benefits than drawbacks. The remarkable
improvements in technology will enable the radio to perform more and become more
widely available. There is no doubt that radio broadcasting will continue to account
for a very substantial segment of the mass media market.

Describe your favourite actor. Why is he your favourite?

I am a fan of Hollywood movies as well as the actors and actresses who act in
those movies. In fact, I seldom miss a TV programme on Oscar awards or Emmy
awards. But, anyway, I will save this talk on Academy Awards for another day,
and instead talk about an actress today who happens to be one of my most
favourite.

Her name is Julia Roberts. Now, I don’t really think that there is any need for
introducing the actress "Julia Roberts" anew to the movie fans around the world.
She is an American actress whose deft performances in varied roles helped
make her one of the highest-paid and most-influential actresses in the 1990s and
early 2000s, and she is still carrying on today as invigorated as she ever has
been.

After starting her Hollywood film career as a leading cast in a movie called
“Mystic Pizza” in the year of 1988, Julia Roberts didn’t have to look back
anymore as her movie career took off like a rocket. Since then, she has acted in
many box office hit movies like “Pretty Woman”, Flatliners (1990), Sleeping with
the Enemy (1991), The Pelican Brief (1993), Something to Talk About (1995),
Mary Reilly (1996), My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), and Stepmom (1998). She
also starred in two popular romantic comedies, Notting Hill and Runaway Bride,
which earned her huge fame.

Born in 1967, Julia has been the golden girl of Hollywood for over 3 decades with
her extraordinarily charming and charismatic role-playing abilities in virtually all
kinds of movies. No wonder, she has won so many academy awards in her film
career.

Anyway, Julia Roberts is my favourite actress, primarily because she knows

perfectly well how to blend in all kinds of characters in all of her movies. She is
my favourite actress also because she has a great personality outside of her
movie life where she has so far managed to stay relatively more scandal-free
than many other contemporary actors and actresses. Another aspect of Julia
Roberts that makes her favourite to me is that she never stops learning.

Sample Answer 2:
Brad Pitt is one of my very favourite actors and I am a huge fan of his movies. He
is a famous Hollywood actor and has got several prizes for his superb work in
movies.

Honestly, he is a good actor who is known worldwide. He is the husband of

another famous female actress Angelina Jolie. His full name is William Bradley
"Brad" Pitt and he is around 50 years old now. For his excellent performance in
acting he has received a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award,
and three Academy Award nominations in acting categories. He has done some
film production works as well. He is a fine actor with a natural gift of depicting the
characters. Often his performance in movies gets very high applauses and
because of that, he was nominated for Oscars more than once.

He usually acts in drama and action movies but his acting varies from the
character of a vampire to a war hero and legendary characters as well. I have
enjoyed most of the movies acted by him and his performance in movies like
Seven, Interview with the vampire, The legend of the falls, 7 years in Tibet, Meet
Joe Black was simply excellent. I find him to be a very high-class actor and a
superb person with his tremendous activity in social welfare works. All these
reasons make him my favourite actor.

Life is full of many happy events and occasions. Thankfully, I have also been blessed to
experience some of these happy occasions in my short life, and this cue card topic offers me a
perfect opportunity to revisit one such happy occasion today.

Back in my high school days, about 10 years ago or so, I wasn’t exactly known to be a very
“strong” young lad, comparing to the other young boys of my age. So, when other school boys
were busy, running and playing with each other in a field, I would just feel happy watching them
from a safe distance most of the times. Sometimes, I even used to ignore the requests of my
game teacher to take part in physical activities of my school, which was frowned upon by my
fellow students and my game teacher alike. Of course, I had tried to tell them that I didn’t like
any sports, that required physical labour, but they were never in a mood to listen to me. Instead,
they all decided to ridicule me because of my reluctance to become physically active. Needless
to say, I felt hurt and embarrassed because of their unjustified “ridicule”.

Anyway, I felt excited and blesses after winning the competition because I wanted to
prove my “worth” as a good student of my school, if not as an “athletic”. Besides, I felt
very proud of my achievement because I helped my school become a champion in the
debate competition for the first time.

Sample Answer 2:

A few months ago I won a prize in a 300-meter sprint competition at my college, and my
family and I were so happy and excited because of that. In fact, they did not expect me
to win that tough competition. So, when I returned home with the prize, they smiled at
me pleasantly. I was very excited and happy too.

I took part in this annual sports competition at the college because I thought I could do
well in it. I practised hard before the competition but others were doing the same. And
when I finished as the runner-up and returned home with a prize, it made my day.

When I returned home, I met almost every one of my family. I had my parents, uncles
and aunts, cousins and my grandmother. My grandma seems exhilarated and blessed
me saying that someday I would be a great sportsman (though I do not have such
intentions). But I was pleased to know that everyone was happy about my achievement.

I had to work hard to do well in that fierce competition. So when I ended up doing well, it
was like my hard work and dedication were finally paid off. Moreover, it brought smiles
on the faces of my family members and they were happy which was a truly great feat for
me.
