3. Introduction of Vocabulary: page 20-5. Vocabulary. Ss math the features and then write
about a city that they know with those features.
4. Introduction of TL: page 18-1. Starting Point. Ss discuss which city they would like to visit.
Ask Ss to provide information to describe the cities or important people (Defining and non-
defining clauses)

6. Controlled practice: page 19-3 B,C.

8. Freer practice: Chain Game with famous people and famous cities. E.g: Shakira is a singer.

PASS1 - UNIT 3B (2ND SESSION)

1. Review of previous class: Listening page 18-3. Ss write about Seoul and Athens using the
learned structures and what they listen in the audio.
2. Lead In: Teacher asks Students how they would describe Puerto Ordaz.
3. Introduction of Vocabulary: page 22-2. Compound terms for towns. Ss make definitions
for each one and try to give examples for them.
4. Introduction of TL: page 22-1. Ask Ss to read the text and give examples of sentences with
two or more adjectives. Tell them they follow a pattern.
5. Clarification (MFP)
- M (Modifiers/Adjectives. Connectors for contrasting ideas)
- F (Pattern)
- Pronunciation (intonation, fluency, cohesion, coherence…)
6. Controlled practice: a. page 23-3B. page 23 4-B.

8. Freer practice: Gallery Walk: Ss walk around the classroom where there are posted
pictures of cities with pros and cons. They used the learned structures to talk about them.

2. Introduction of the Text: page 25-7. “A tale of two cities”.
3. Reading for specific information: page 25-B.
4. Read for details: Second time to read: Ss answer these questions:
a. How are people from Melbourne and Sidney called?
b. Which city is friendlier?
c. Which cities are Melbourne and Sidney compared with?
5. Speaking: Which of these two cities would you like to visit and why?
6. Productive Skill: Writing: Ss write about a rivalry among two cities that they know.
