The Word “Teacher” According to God’s Word

L ET’S take a look at the word “teacher” and see what we can learn from it. If you are an active teacher in
the Lord’s Church, then I want you to know that you are a blessed Christian! A teacher is one who...

Teaches only the Word of God (1 Peter 4:11; Titus 2:1; 2 Timothy 1:13; Jonah 3:2; 1 Kings 22:14).

Encourages his or her students to grow in the knowledge of God’s Holy Word (2 Peter 3:18; 1
Timothy 4:13-16; 2 Timothy 3:14-17).

Applies to his or her own life the Word of God (James 1:22-25; Luke 11:28; Acts 1:1; Ezra 7:10).

Cares for the spiritual progress of his or her students (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:1-2; Hebrews 5:11-14;
Jude 22-23; 2 Peter 1:15; Philippians 3:1; Colossians 3:15-16).

Handles aright the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Exemplifies Christ in his or her life (1 Peter 2:21-22; 1 Corinthians 11:1).

Respects the authority of the Scriptures (Colossians 3:17; 1 Peter 4:11; 1 Kings 22:14).

Aplica a su vida personal lo que la Biblia enseña (Santiago 1:22-25; Lucas 11:28; Esdras 7:10; He-
chos 1:1).

Enseña solamente lo que las Sagradas Escrituras dicen (1 Pedro 4:11; Jonás 3:2; 1 Reyes 22:14; 2 Ti-
moteo 4:1-2; Tito 2:1; 2 Timoteo 1:13).

Siente un profundo amor por sus estudiantes a los que les imparte el conocimiento de Dios
(Marcos 12:31; Juan 13:34-35; Filipenses 2:1-4; Romanos 12:9).

Transmite el conocimiento de Dios para que las vidas de sus estudiantes sean transformadas para
la honra y gloria de Dios (Colosenses 1:28; Romanos 12:1-2; Hechos 20:32; 2 Timoteo 3:16-17).

Respeta la autoridad de las Sagradas Escrituras (1 Pedro 4:11; Colosenses 3:17; 2 Timoteo 3:16-17).

Ora todo el tiempo por su vida personal y la de sus estudiantes (1 Tesalonicenses 5:17; Colosenses
4:2; Efesios 6:17; Juan 17:1-26).
