What Do We Know About Satan? (1)

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT SATAN? If we were to take the time to study the Scriptures, then
we would learn some things about Satan. We may not learn everything there is to know about him,
but some things, we can know. Let us see what the Bible says about the enemy of God and man.

THE NAMES OF SATAN:

The Old Serpent (Genesis 3:1, 4; 2 Corinthians 11:3; Revelation 12:9; 20:2).
El Great Dragon (Revelation 12:9).
Apollyon (Revelation 9:11).
The Accuser of the Brethren (Revelation 12:10).
Satan (1 Chronicles 21:1; Job 1:6).
The Devil (Matthew 4:1).
The Tempter (Matthew 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5).
The Enemy (Matthew 13:39).
The Wicked One (1 John 5:19).
The Deceiver (Revelation 20:10).
The Hinderer (1 Thessalonians 2:18).
The Prince of this world (John 12:31).
The Angel of Light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
The Adversary (1 Peter 5:8).
The Roaring Lion (1 Peter 5:8).
The Murderer (John 8:44).
The Father of Lies (John 8:44).
The Prince of the Demons (Matthew 9:34).

Each of these names basically describes who Satan is, and what he desires to do with us. He is our
number one enemy. Knowing who he is will help us to overcome him. We will continue next week.

¿QUÉ SABEMOS ACERCA DE SATANÁS? Si tomáramos el tiempo para estudiar las Escrituras, en-
tonces aprenderíamos algunas cosas acerca de Satanás. No podemos aprender todo lo que hay que sa-
ber sobre él, pero algunas cosas, podemos saber. Veamos lo que dice la Biblia acerca del enemigo de
Dios y del hombre.

LOS NOMBRES DE SATANÁS:

La serpiente antigua (Génesis 3:1, 4; 2 Corintios 11:3; Apocalipsis 12:9; 20:2).

El gran dragón (Apocalipsis 12:9).
Apolión (Apocalipsis 9:11).
El acusador de los hermanos (Apocalipsis 12:10).
Satanás (1 Crónicas 21:1; Job 1:6).
El diablo (Mateo 4:1).
El tentador (Mateo 4:3; 1 Tesalonicenses 3:5).
El enemigo (Mateo 13:39).
El maligno (1 Juan 5:19).
El engañador (Apocalipsis 20:10).
El que estorba (1 Tesalonicenses 2:18).
El príncipe de este mundo (Juan 12:31).
Ángel de luz (2 Corintios 11:13-15).
El adversario (1 Pedro 5:8).
El león rugiente (1 Pedro 5:8).
El homicida (Juan 8:44).
El padre de las mentiras (Juan 8:44).
El príncipe de los demonios (Mateo 9:34).

Cada uno de estos nombres básicamente describe quién es Satanás, y lo que él desea hacer con no-
sotros. Él es nuestro enemigo número uno. Saber quién es nos ayudará a vencerlo. Seguiremos la
