Objective
At the end of the end of the laboratory, you would be able to simulate, using FluidSim
Pneumatic, a fully functional design for a speed and position control for drill press mechanism.
Discussion
Pneumatics control can be implemented using contact and contactless sensors. Sensors can be
actuated manually, mechanically or by electrical means using solenoids.
In this laboratory you will use a roller limit switch (mechanical actuation) to control the
retraction speed of the flow control valves. This set-up can be applied to drill press.
Scenario
A double-acting cylinder is to extend when the pushbutton (sensor) is pressed and retracts when
the limit switch (full travel of the cylinder) is reach. The extension speed is to be slow and
adjustable via a one-way control valve.
Step-by-Step Guide
1st Tap the plus sign to start a new project the write your name and create your
project.
2nd step. Just tap the arrow is pointing and select the device you need to use
and tap the device then drag it.
3rd Step.tilt the one way valve to 90° and connect the wires to it’s respective
area.
4th Step.double tap the 5/2 way DCV and install piloted on each side as seen in
the procedures below
8th step. Press the button to push the actuator and press the pedal to retract
the actuator. Since this is a manual stimulation, you have to press it repeatedly.
