Part A: Summary (10 marks)

➢ ONLY write 1 full/complete summary

➢ 100 – 120 words
➢ 1 question:

The benefits of science and technology (points from text) and the challenges of
advancing them (your point of view) in this country.

How to write a full summary?

1st paragraph: Introduction

- Must start with “Rumusan membincangkan” and then ...(copy the questions given)...
- Example: Rumusan membincangkan the benefits of donating blood (points from
text) and methods/steps to encourage people to donate blood (second
instruction).

2nd paragraph: Content (Important points)

- 5 – 7 points from text given

- Use the sequence connector (refer to the Lecture notes)

3rd paragraph: Unseen points (Your own opinion)

- 2 points based on second instruction (can be in 1 or 2 sentences)

4th paragraph: Conclusion

- Must start with “Kesimpulannya/Sebagai kesimpulan/Konklusinya (choose one)” &

followed by “semua pihak haruslah/perlulah (choose one) bekerjasama untuk......
supaya/agar (choose one) .............”
- Example: Kesimpulannya, semua pihak haruslah bekerjasama untuk menderma
darah supaya bekalan darah di negara ini mencukupi.
Part B: Essay Writing (20 marks)

➢ You need to write 1 SPEECH ESSAY with 350 – 400 words

➢ 1 infographic about CAUSES of the chronic diseases will be given (Make sure you
understand the keyword in Malay & you elaborate your essay based on the keyword)
➢ For example:
Causes of Kidney Disease/ Causes of Arthritis/ Causes of Heart Attack Disease
(either one of these topics)
➢ Please find the following keywords in Malay:
1. Content
2. Pressure
3. Heredity
4. Fat

How to write a speech?

** Please follow the format of writing a speech

INTRODUCTION (± 25 words)

- Greeting to the audience

- Give a brief description about the speech (scenario/ recent issue related)

CONTENT (± 50 words each paragraph if write 7 paragraphs)

- Elaborate each of the points given in a paragraph

- Give example accordingly
- Write at least 2 sentences
- Use greeting in the middle of speech at least once before continue to the new
paragraph
- Example of greeting:
1) Saudara dan saudari sekalian
2) Tuan-tuan dan puan-puan
3) Hadirin sekalian
4) Hadirin yang dihormati
5) Yang dihormati sekalian

CONCLUSION (± 25 words)

- What can you conclude from the speech?

- What is your wish/ hope?
- Thanks to the audience
 Sample essay

Yang berusaha Tuan Guru Besar, Encik Rahim bin Omar, yang dihormati guru penasihat
Kelab Bahasa Melayu, serta rakan-rakan sekalian. Terlebih dahulu saya selaku pengerusi
kelab ini merakamkan ucapkan ribuan terima kasih atas kehadiran hadirin sekalian dalam
Mesyuarat Agong kelab ini.

Hadirin sekalian,

Sepanjang tahun ini pelbagai aktiviti telah dijalankan oleh persatuan. Selaras dengan
matlamat penubuhannya, untuk meningkatkan penguasaan Bahasa Melayu di kalangan ahli
dan murid-murid di sekolah ini.

Pada semester pertama, persatuan ini telah menganjurkan Minggu Bahasa Melayu. Pelbagai
aktiviti dijalanakan untuk memilih peserta ke pertandingan di peringkat daerah. Antara aktiviti
tersebut ialah pertandingan bercerita, mendeklamasi sajak, bersyair, dan syarahan.

Hadirin sekalian,

Pada semester kedua pula, persatuan telah menganjurkan pertandingan menulis karangan,
kuiz antara rumah-rumah sukan, dan pertandingan drama sebabak antara kelas bagi murid-
murid tahap 2.

Selain itu, persatuan juga telah menganjurkan lawatan sambil belajar ke Dewan Bahasa dan
Perpustakaan Negara. Sebanyak 40 orang murid dan 4 orang guru terlibat dalam lawatan itu.

Sebelum saya mengundur diri, terlebih dahulu saya mewakili ahli jawatankuasa kelab ini
memohon kemaafan jika terdapat kelemahan sepanjang kami menerajui kelab ini.
