Property of does not change the product.
Multiplication
Associative Property Changing the grouping of the (-3+5)+2= -3+(5+2)
of Addition addends does not change the sum.
Associative Property Changing the grouping of the factors (2 x 4) x 6 = 2 x (4
of Multiplication does not change the product. x 6)
Distributive Property Multiplying a sum by a number is the -3 (-4 + 5) = 12 -15
same as multiplying each addend by
that number and then adding the two
products
Identity Property Adding zero to any number does not -7 +0 =-7
for Addition change the value of the number
Identity Property Multiplying 1 to any number does not -8 x 1 = -8
for Multiplication change the value of the number
Inverse Property for The sum of any integer and its 6 + (-6) =0
Addition additive inverse is 0
