a. Briefly highlight the importance of the following communication skills (approx.


50 words each):
LISTENING – it improves your understanding of what is being conveyed to
you, which can also make you a better communicator. Conversations are
two way, a good balance between listening and talking is crucial in building
relationships.
SPEAKING – important in communicating emotions and influencing
decisions.
READING – strengthens language and improves conversation skills. Also
improves education in writing and speaking skills.
WRITING – allows communication to a wider audience.
NON-VERBAL (i.e. body language and gesture) – important in
communicating how engaged you are and conveying emotions.

b. Identify how you might use the appropriate skills in section A for the following
activities (if you have already used any of them, give a brief example):

PREPARING FOR AN INTERVIEW


Listening and reading skills to be aware of what is required for the interview.

ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW


Speaking and body language skills to communicate effectively and clearly.

FOLLOWING UP THE INTERVIEW

Writing skills to convey messages professionally in further detail.

PLANNING FOR A FILM SHOOT IN A TEAM


Listening to understand wat to prepare for the shoot. Speaking and writing to
communicate that everyone is on the same page

PREPARING AND DELIVERING A PRESENTATION


Speaking for getting communicating the point across clearly and effectively.
Writing and reading skills for preparing the presentation ahead of time and
knowing what to include.
COMPLETING AN APPLICATION FORM
Reading skills to understand what is needed too be written.

You may not use ALL the skills listed in Section A for any one activity, so identify the
appropriate skill or skills for each coloured activity.

Both sections to be completed on your Weebly page and submitted to Moodle
