Employment Contract Letter Horri Inc

THIS CONTRACT is made as of 26th December 2022, by and between Horri Inc
Construction (Employer) in Hargeisa, Somaliland and Patrick Lunalo Otunga
(Employee)

WHEREAS the Employer desires to obtain the benefit of the services of the Employee,
and the Employee desires to render such services on the terms and conditions set
forth.

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements set


forth below, it is hereby covenanted and agreed by Horri Inc Construction
(Employer) and Patrick Lunalo Otunga (Employee) as follows:

1. Place of Work

Normally place of work at various construction sites in Hargeisa but the company has
choice to transfer you to other cities In Somaliland where it sees it fit for your work in
order to achieve the company’s goal.

- If you do not turn up for work without satisfactory reason you will go unpaid on
that day and receive additional day’s pay deduction as a tine. On the second
unpaid day you are required to work.
- For each disciplinary case brought against them, employee shall receive a
written notice. On the third notice, they shall be dismissed from their position.

2. Employment

The Employee agrees that he will at all times faithfully, industriously, and to the best
of his skill, ability, experience and talents, perform all of the duties required of his
position. In carrying out these duties and responsibilities, the Employee shall comply
with all Employer policies, procedures, rules and regulations, both written and oral, as
are announced by the Employer from time to time. It is also understood and agreed to
by the Employee that his assignment, duties and responsibilities and reporting
arrangements may be changed by the Employer in its sole discretion without causing
termination of this agreement.

3. Position Title

Horri Inc Construction hereby employs you as Carpenter, and you hereby agree to
serve in such capacity, for the period beginning 26th December 2022 and ending on
the date on which the Employee's employment is terminated in accordance with
paragraph 10 below.

4. Schedule of Working Hours

A. Normal working hour’s start at 6.45am till 4:30 pm with one-hour lunch break.
B. Normal Working days are Saturday to Thursday. Employee will usually be given
the day off on Fridays, unless they agree to overtime. Details of such hours are
subject to employer’s approval.
C. Other holidays would be every national and international holidays such as; Two
Eid days, Christmas Day, and Somaliland Independence Day. These will be
taken subject to employer’s approval.

5. Compensation

a) Subject to the following provisions of this Agreement, during the Employment


Period the Employee shall be compensated for his services as follows:

b) He shall receive monthly in an amount which shall be USD 650, subject to such
increases as may from time to time be determined by the chairman of Horri Inc
Construction
c) You have 1 month of unpaid sick leave each year, but you have to provide
notice before and during your sick leave. While the company will keep for your
position, if that one-month sick leave is beyond you might be subject to
termination of employment.
d) You are entitled to 1 month unpaid leave after nine months from your time of
arrival. This could also occur at the completion of a project but will be at the
employer’s discretion.

6. Deductions.

Horri Inc Construction (Rashid Ali) is owed the following sum by Patrick Lunalo
Otunga

A. $200 - Preparation expenses

The total amount owed ($200), will be deducted from your salary over 4 months at
$50 per month.

7. Bones

The end of the year you will get a bones based on the performance of the year and
your bones will depend on how hard and how you performance during the year.

8. Benefits.
(i) Transportation (During working time, specially when you’re travelling from site
to site). Please note you might have to walk if distance is 20 minutes or less.
(ii) Horri Inc will provide accommodation.
(iii) Horri Inc will provide $60 stipend a month for food
(iv) Horri Inc will pay staff’s medical expenses or surgery if employee becomes
injured during working hours.
(v) Horri Inc will pay for one-year visa at a cost of $450. However, if employee
leaves the company in less than nine months from date of arrival, they are liable

to pay back the cost ($450) of the visa. Amount of to be repaid will depend on
how much on contract is left.

9. Salary Increment.

Your annual salary increment will made for you while the company will take
consideration the inflation which the living expenses increase and also the
performance you show in your probation period.

10. Termination
i. The employee (Patrick Lunalo Otunga) cannot leave their position at Horri
Inc and work for another employer in while in Somaliland. The consequence of
such action is that he will be deported from Somaliland and Horri Inc will to be
compensated by employee the sum of 3 months salary ($1,950).
ii. If employee wishes to leave their position and leave Somaliland altogether,
Horri Inc is to be given three months notice.
iii. If employee leaves their position, he/she cannot return to work for another
employer in Somaliland for a period of 12 months.
iv. If at any time, in the opinion of the Manager / owner, which is final in this matter
you are found non-performer or guilty of fraud, dishonest, disobedience,
disorderly behaviour, negligence, indiscipline, absence of work without
permission. Horri Inc will provide three warning letters, after that if the staff will
do any other mistakes, which is against Horri Inc’s policy, staff’s services may
be terminated. When terminations take place the employee agrees to return
any property of Horri Inc to the general manager.
v. If you do not turn up for work without satisfactory reason you will go unpaid on

vi. For each disciplinary case brought against them, employee shall receive a
written notice. On the third notice, they shall be dismissed from their position.

Duration of contract is 24 months

The Agreement may be executed in two or more counterparts, any one of which shall
be deemed the original without reference to the others.
