In Class Activity – Basic Formatting Features II


Complete the following instructions in the order provided.
1. Open a new MS Word document. Save the document as Table-Kitchen_FName_LName
(for example, Table-Kitchen_Jane_Doe).

2. Type your first name, last name, and class name in the right-hand section of the header.

3. Recreate the table below ensuring that you have the appropriate number of columns and rows. Use font Times
New Roman, font size 12 to type the text.

Breakfast Menu Lunch Menu Dinner Menu Snacks
Waffle with ham and Rice and Beans with Fry Jack, beans and Nachos
cheese Chicken and Salad scramble eggs
Chicken Burrito White rice stew beans Johnny Cake with beans Chicken Dip
and stew chicken and Sausage
Chicken Tacos Chicken Fajitas Stew Chicken, beans and Cheese Dip
flour tortillas.

The information in the table should be formatted as follows:


A. Merge the entire first row.

B. Center the title of the table across the first row. Change the font to size 14 and a dark blue color.

C. Resize Columns 1 to 4 with the following specification: 0.5” in height and 1.8”in width.

D. Resize Row one to 0.7 inches in height.

E. Fill row 2 using a light blue color.

F. Fill row 1 using a light orange color.

G. Insert a new column at the end (right-hand side). Name this column Natural Juices.

H. Include the following menu items under the Natural Juices column: Watermelon, Orange, Lime.

I. Bold and italicize the title and all column headings.

J. Insert a new row at the bottom of the table. Split this new row into 5 cells. Type the following into these
new cells:

K. Bold and center-align the content in the last row. Fill in these cells with your favorite color.

L. Format the table border (outside border):


- to a color of your choice (no white nor black).
- change the Line Style to double lines
- change the Line Weight to 3 pt.

M. Save the changes made to your document and upload your completed file to the link in MS Teams in the
time provided.
