Dear Scholarship Committee,

My name is Javie Bryant B. Redil, currently enrolled in the University of St. La Salle as a second-
year nursing student. I am writing this letter to apply and communicate my interest for the
scholarship being offered by the university. As a student, I have always been diligent and dedicated
in my studies throughout my academic life. I always try my best to earn high grades in every
subject in my course. I study very hard all the time to ensure that I learn all the lessons and
discussions. It has always been a dream of mine to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing and be able
to fulfill my dream of being a hospital nurse. The reason why I invest so much in my education is
that I want to be a highly qualified and equipped nurse in the future. Together with it, I also know
for a fact that obtaining this degree will be my way out of poverty, as it will open lots of doors of
opportunity for me in the future.
My father retired from his job early pandemic, which lead to a serious financial crisis in our family.
The pension that he is receiving monthly could hardly suffice our day-to-day needs. Currently, my
education is being supported by my aunt who is working in Singapore. She is also supporting my
other relatives’ studies and that is the reason why I showed genuine interest in this scholarship
opportunity. I would like to alleviate my aunt’s financial strain as she has a lot on her plate right
now.
Money has always been my struggle in attaining the hopes and dreams I have for my future, which
is why I took the time to apply for this college scholarship. With my financial situation, this
scholarship will truly enable me to achieve my aims and endeavors of becoming a nurse in the
future.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter.

Sincerely Yours,
Javie Bryant B. Redil
