TAGAYTAY SECONDARY SCHOOLS
BACK DEPED’S NATIONAL READING
PROGRAM
On the opening of the full blast
in-person classes, all secondary
schools of Tagaytay City shared a
new reading productivity initiative
from the Department of Education
(DepEd) in line with the “National
Reading Month” this November.
Tagaytay City Science
National High School - Integrated
Senior High School (TCSNHS-
ISHS), Francisco P. Tolentino
Integrated High School (FPTIHS)
Tagaytay City Integrated School
(TCIS), and Tagaytay City National
High School (TCNHS) participated
in this National Reading Month
to fulfill DepEd’s goal of ensuring
improved learners’ reading
performance as one of the
priorities in the Learning Recovery
Plan.
Based on the memorandum,
Deped’s objective was to promote
love for reading among learners
and understanding the role of
reading and literacy of its learners
after this month of the year.
In accordance with the
National Reading Month, DepEd
encouraged all schools nationwide
join the “Araw ng Pagbasa
Challenge”, wherein they are
national synchronized reading at
exactly 9 AM (PST).
Aside from reading books
and other text materials, it is also
stated in the memorandum that
the schools will implement five
activities; Share a Book Drive,
Reading Pantry, Book Talk, and
classroom level Read-A-Thon.
Moreover, the
productive reading activities
shared by the school staff
received great joy from students
as they interacted with the
school principals and teachers’
meaningful presentation.
