1) A hypothetical isotropic antenna is radiating in free space, at a distance of 100 m

from the antenna. The total electric field (Eθ) is measured to be 5 V/m. Find:

a) The average power density (Pavg)

b) The power radiated (Prad)

2) The maximum radiation intensity of a 90% efficiency antenna is 200 mW/st. Find
the directivity and gain in dB when:

a) The input power is 125.66 mW

b) The radiated power is 125.66 mW
3) The power radiated by a lossless antenna is 10 W. The directional characteristics of
the antenna are represented by the radiation intensity given by:

U  B0 cos3  W/st 0   / 2 0    2

a) Find the maximum power density (P avg) at a distance r = 1000 m. Specify the
angle where it occurs.

b) Find the Directivity of the antenna (dimensionless and in dB)

c) Find the Gain of the antenna (dimensionless and in dB).

4) For a radar application the desirable radiation pattern of the antenna is given by:

1 0 o    20 o 
 
U  0.342 cos()
cscӨ 20o    60 o  0    2
