Farmos

I live in Farmos. It is a village in Pest county. It is about 70 km far from Budapest and 20 km far from
Jászberény or Cegléd. About 3700 people live here. They usually live in detached houses, and they
also have a garden around the house. There aren’t many famous buildings in the village. We have an
old church and a museum. It is called ’the House of Waterside Life’. It shows animals: fish, frogs,
snakes, insects that live in the water and we can see some birds, too. One part of Farmos is a nature
reserve area with reeds and marsh and we can see beautiful flowers, birds here.

There are some small shops in Farmos but sometimes we must travel to the nearest town to do the
shopping. We have got two supermarkets, a post office, a bank, a clothes shop, a library, two flower
shops and some pubs. There is a football field too. Unfortunately, we haven’t got a cinema or a
swimming pool.

I like living here because people are very friendly. The roads and streets are not so crowded, there
aren’t many cars. The air is fresh and we can hear birds singing. We have got a garden and we keep
pets like dogs, cats …..
