A cry that God will Answer – Randy Skeete
When Christ was on the cross according to John 19:25 - 25 Now there stood by the cross of
Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. –
the mother saw Him -yes, was that her son – yes. What do you think was going through her
heart? We cannot imagine what was going through Mary. Here is your boy on the cross –
she fed Him, she breasts fed God. Now He hangs on that cross. Mary must have been so
distraught, she would have loved to have taken His place on that cross, but she couldn’t.
The disciples could not take it anymore, so they left, but Mary stayed – this suffering must
be avenged – and the reason for it – Sin- where it is found? - sinners
In popular pulpits, today, God is presented as a God of love and that is it – which He is.
There is no mention of God’s judgment. There is no mention of God’s anger. Even though
the very first promise of the bible is promise from God to put hatred in our hearts for sin,
telling us something of the mind of God towards sin. God Himself describes His son Jesus
Christ in Hebrews 1:9 - 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” – God hates sin. Let us see how much
God hate sin
Revelation 16:
Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out
the [a]bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”
Then God said “Let there be light”, and there was light Page | 2

Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the
temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and
thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great
earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. – the worst earth quake is
coming
19
Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell.
And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the
fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not
found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a
talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was
exceedingly – this plague falls from Heaven. This is not the first-time God using the storm
to destroy His enemies. See, Joshua 10:11- 11 And it happened, as they fled before
Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the LORD cast down large hailstones
from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the
hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. Here is an example of God
sending hailstones to destroy the enemy of His people.
Remember this, not all sermons got to have a happy feeling and put smiles on our faces:
There was no smile on Christ when He was kneeling on the garden of Gethsemane- there
was no smile on the face of the Father when He forsook His son and Jesus cried My God, My
God why have you forsaken me- there was no smile on the face of the Jesus when they were
nailing His hands and feet and put thorns on His head and pieced His ribs, and blind folded
Him and slapped Him and said who did it? There was no smile when Adam sinned – All of
Heaven must have cried, and God had to throw him out
Serving God, does not always means smiling. Sometimes it means crying. Sometime it
means a broken heart particularly when you realized you have sinned. Sometimes it means
just being crushed. When David heard, his boy had died – the one he had with Bathsheba,
for 3 days he couldn’t eat, he slept on the ground, until the prophet said get up. A Christian
walk is not always smile.
Let us see Revelation 15:1- Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven
angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete -In all of
God’s judgement on the Earth, the flood, the sun you name it, God has shown mercy. In
every act of judgement over the earth, God has mingled it with at least a little mercy. This
time when God expresses His wrath and His anger, there will be no mercy. Revelation 15:1
says, the seven angels having the seven last plagues, in them is filled with the wrath of God
– the wrath of God, the focus of God’s wrath is in these seven lives
N// In the book of Revelation, all messages of mercy end in Revelation 14. (Revelation 1-5
is just a re-emphasis of what is found in Revelation 14)

So, essentially all warning messages of the world end in Revelation 14 – because well after
vs 14 – Christ is seen on the cloud with a crown on His head and sickle in His hand, that is
judgement is coming down. All warnings of this world, the last warning message of this
world is found in Revelation 14: 6 and 12.
This time in Revelation 14:9 – the wrath of God is powered out in an instance without
mercy.

Revelation 14:9 – numbs all the rebellious people under one as those who warship the
beast and receive his mark- Read Revelation 14:9 again - “If anyone worships the beast
and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, - the “if” here is a
warning. If any man – educated, ignorant, high position, low position, male, female, rich,
poor, black, white – warship the beast and receives his mark in his forehead or on his hand –
the same shall drink from the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out full strength into
the cup of His indignation. The wrath that will be poured out we found it in Revelation 15:1
– 7 plagues, Revelation 16:1- 7 plagues. They represent God’s expression of anger because
of sin and sinners.
When this happens, God’s people will be protected. A study of the 10 plagues in Egypt,
when God sent plague after plague after plague, they were ten, the plagues affected the
Egyptians, the Israelites were protected. If you are a child of God, you don’t have worry
about this message, because God goes out to protect His people. God does not punish
righteousness, He punishes sin. Now do the righteous suffer? – Yes. Who was the most
righteous person who ever lived? – Jesus. Did He suffer? – Yes. If Christ suffered for
righteousness, we will and we must be prepared. But that suffering is NOT God’s wrath.
So, God will send these seven plagues upon this earth because of sin, and they will fall on
sinners not God’s people., “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and
receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, - We have to know who is the beast and
who is the image – especially the beast because that came first. And receives his mark –
what does that mean? On his forehead or on his hand – what does forehead mean? And
what does hand mean? So, the bible identifies those who will suffer these seven last
plagues. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out full
strength into the cup of His indignation.
Now, the wrath of God, continues beyond the seven last plagues. How? – let read verse 9
again microscopically: He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the
holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends
forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image,
and whoever receives the mark of his name.” – this is an ongoing expression of anger –
when the bible says He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone – this does not happen
when the seven-last plague is poured out. This happens 1000 years after Jesus Christ
comes. Fire and brimstone represents the final destruction of the wicked. The seven-last
plagues do not destroy the wicked, it makes them suffer, but the final destruction of the
wicked will be when the fire of hell consume this earth and all the sin and all the sinners
who refuse to accept the light as it shown. And so, God’s wrath, seven last plagues is a 1000

years gap and He finishes His wrath at the end of the 1000 years and after this, Jesus
Christ comes back.
Where do we find in the bible a tight summary of what God wants us to do?
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.
Jesus puts it differently - Luke 18:18 - 18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good
Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19
So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that
is, God. 20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not
steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
– Jesus is saying, you know the commandments. The ruler had no mistake to what Christ
was referring to. The he said, what must I do to inherit eternal life? He didn’t say – what
must I do to give myself eternal life – so, this is not salvation by works. He didn’t say, what
shall I do to give myself - no one can give himself/herself eternal life. He said, what must I
do to inherit it to get is from somebody else and that is you, or the Father – And Jesus said –
keep the commandments.
How do escape the seven-last plagues? – we make sure our lives are right with God. And a
single question every day is, Father what would you have me to do? What do you want me to
do?
When that time comes, your money won’t save you – so start giving it to the church. Your
degree won’t save you. Your possession won’t save you. The only thing that will save us, if
we are found covered in the righteousness of Christ – and the covering is really a covering
of the heart not the skin.
There is a cry that God will answer. That cry, is a cry from His people. The cry from suffering
creations, the cry from those who have given their lives and paid a painful price for the sake

of right doing and righteousness and faithful to God and God will answer that cry. When He
does, it will be terrible, because God hates sin!
So, make a decision today, Father, by the grace of Christ, let get out of the line of fire.
2 Peter3:10 - 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the
heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both
the earth and the works that are in it will be [a]burned up. – the earth and every sinful thing
and every sinful person.
God is saying, step out of the line of fire, by making a decision of commitment to obey me.
When God sent one of the plagues to Egypt – the hail. When God sent the hail, He sent
Moses to tell the Pharaoh – I will send hail to all of you – that will destroy every cow that is
outside – all the cattle that is outside that is not protected will die. Interesting the bible says
in Exodus 9:20-21 - 20 He who feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh
made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses. 21 But he who did not regard the word
of the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field. When some Egyptians heard the
warning, they had experienced the first plagues – they knew God was not playing. So, when
Moses sent the warning, even the Egyptians, who obeyed God’s words, they brought the
cattle into the house, and verse 21 sadly says but he who did not regard the word of
the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field -and of course they died.
Verse 20 says – He that feared the word of the Load among the servants of the Pharaoh –
when you fear God, the natural response is to obey. The Egyptians that feared the word of
God, brought the cattle into the house.
Today, we have God’s word. Let us fear God’s word. Humble yourself before the authority of
God who does not lie. There is a terrible time coming on this earth, it will come sooner than
you and I think.
When world trade center happened September 11th ,2001. Things changed overnight.
Things can change first. A few years ago, there was a volcanic eruption in Iceland – the
eruption was so bad, planes could not fly in Europe and economy begun to alter. As I type
this, 6 years after Randy Skeete made this sermon, in February, 2020 the current outbreak
of coronavirus is a prime example of how things can quickly change. Flights are grounded,
world economy is tinkering, people are dying and sick people are being quarantine in their
homes – people are panicking all over. It does not take much for things to go wild just like
that.
This is how Christ will come – suddenly. But today, let all say, Father I want to be safe and
secure – from your wrath. I want to be among those who say in Isaiah 25:9 - 9 And it will be
said in that day:
Then God said “Let there be light”, and there was light Page | 8

Remember – The Lord is not willing that anyone should perish. So, if God is to destroy, then
you have to know, He has a good reason.
Here is a God who wants everyone to be saved - 1 Timothy 2:4 4 who desires all men to be
saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Here is a God who says in Ezekiel 33:11 - 11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I
have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.
Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ – This is a God
who will destroy. It will be a strange act, but He won’t have no choice. Let us be on the right
side of God. That is a side of surrender and obedience of the heart.
