What

is internet of thing ?

•The Internet of things describes the

network of physical objects, so known as,
"things" — that are embedded with
sensors, software, and other
technologies that is used for the purpose
of connecting and exchanging data with
other devices and systems over the
Internet.
history internet of things
•A brief history of the Internet of Things
•But the actual term “Internet of Things”
was coined by Kevin Ashton in
1999 during his work at Procter&Gamble.
Ashton who was working in supply chain
optimization, wanted to attract senior
management's attention to a new
exciting technology called RFID
When did IoT start?

•1999
•The Internet of Things, as a concept,
wasn't officially named until 1999. One of
the first examples of an Internet of Things
is from the early 1980s, and was a Coca
Cola machine, located at the Carnegie
Melon University.
Why is Internet of Things (IoT) so important?
• Over the past few years, IoT has become one of the most important
technologies of the 21st century. Now that we can connect everyday
objects—kitchen appliances, cars, thermostats, baby monitors—to
the internet via embedded devices, seamless communication is
possible between people, processes, and things.
• By means of low-cost computing, the cloud, big data, analytics, and
mobile technologies, physical things can share and collect data with
minimal human intervention. In this hyperconnected world, digital
systems can record, monitor, and adjust each interaction between
connected things. The physical world meets the digital world—and
they cooperate.
Example for internet of thing ?
•Smart surveillance, automated
transportation, smarter energy
management systems, water
distribution, urban security and
environmental monitoring all are
examples of internet of things
applications for smart cities.
Internet of thing use for ?

•IoT applications use machine learning

algorithms to analyze massive amounts
of connected sensor data in the cloud.
Using real-time IoT dashboards and alerts,
you gain visibility into key performance
indicators, statistics for mean time
between failures, and other information.
What are the most uses of IoT?

•Transport companies like UPS are using

smart technology and IoT to learn more
about the behaviors of their drivers, as well
as to improve their carbon footprint. Rolls
Royce and Microsoft recently banded
together to develop smart engines that
better assist with providing data for car
maintenance and repair
Internet of thing model?

•The IoT Information Model is a meta-model

that provides a structure for the
information being handled by IoT Systems.
... As the Virtual Entity is the representation
of the Physical Entity in the digital world,
there is no other representation of the
Physical Entity in the IoT Information
Model.
