َ ‫ص َّل َعلى َسيِّ ِدنَا ُم َح َّم ٍد َو َعلى ِ َو‬ َّ ُ
َ ‫ اللهُ َّم‬.‫ُم َح َّمدًا َع ْب ُدهُ َو َرسُولهُ َو َج ْيبُهُ ال ُمختار‬
Honorable ones; the juries, the participants of English speech contests and all audiences.
Firstly, thanks to Allah SWT Who always given health, blessing, and salvation for all of us.
So that, we can to be here without trouble at all.
Secondly, let’s deliver sholawat and salam to our prophet Muhammad SAW who has
brought us from the darkness to the brightness. From Jahiliyah era to the Islamiyah era
namely islamic religion.
Thirdly, I am standing in front of you all, i would like to deliver my speech under the title
“Indonesian local wisdom“
Well ladies and gentlemen
Local wisdom is the view of life of a community in a certain area regarding the natural
environment in which they live. This view of life is usually a view of life that has been
deeply rooted in the beliefs of the people in the region for tens or even hundreds of years.
Every country in the world has its own uniqueness, including the country of Indonesia.
Indonesia’s geographical area stretches from Sabang in the west to Merauke in the east.
Thousands of islands starting from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi. Papua and
thousands of other islands. On these islands live hundreds of ethnic groups with a variety of
cultures. This cultural diversity makes Indonesia unique. No wonder many foreigners come to
Indonesia to learn Indonesian culture. This is proof that regional culture is not inferior in
quality to culture that comes from the west.
The uniqueness of Indonesia itself comes from customs, traditions and local wisdom that
exist in Indonesia. Not just one, each region even has its own local wisdom. To maintain this
local wisdom, parents from the previous generation and older will pass it on to their children
their children and so on. Considering that local wisdom is an old thought and is decades old,
local wisdom in an area is so attached and difficult to separate from the people who live in
that area.
The value of local wisdom will have meaning if it remains a reference in overcoming every
dynamic of social life, especially in addressing various differences that are prone to causing
conflict. The existence of local wisdom values will actually be tested in the midset of a
dynamic social life. That’s where a value will be felt.
Getting to know the local culture is a means to increase a sense of love for Indonesia. By
knowing and studying the local culture, a sense of pride and a sense of belonging to one’s
own culture will arise. With local wisdom, the social order and the surrounding environment
are sustainable and maintained. In addition, local wisdom is also a form of cultural wealth
that must be firmly adhered to, especially by the younger generation to fight against
globalization. Therefore The characteristics of the local community will never fade.
 That’s all my speech today, I hope it can be useful for all of us. I am sorry if there is any
