COMMISSIONING AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRIFIED DOUBLE TRACK FROM GEMAS TO
JOHOR BAHRU (“Project”)

Determination of The Allowable Bearing Capacity of Subgrade

We refer to your letter ref. KLC/5055/CCCC/EWK&GEO/L408 dated 19 October 2020, and attach the
SIN from the MEC (GCU) instructing us to carry out the plate bearing test as per the locations specified.

Locations identified (layout plans attached) by the Infra (SSP) and Trackwork (GCU) Resident Engineer
at different types of ground treatment are as follow:

1. Cut ground at CH 599685,

2. Complete/ Full Remove & Replace (R&R) treatment at CH 579800
3. Partial R&R with surcharge preload at CH 712000
4. PVD with surcharge preload at CH 578885
5. Stone column ground treatment at CH 580250
6. Piled embankment at 580375
7. Turnout location at Turnout No 1, Central Paloh CH 645175

We shall proceed to carry out the tests as per MEC’s instruction and will submit a copy of the result to
your good office as soon as it is available.
