The study aims to assess the extent of use, disposal and recycling practices of PPEs in the

Barangay Centro 02 Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The study is composed of three major parts such

as the input, process, and the output. The input includes the data needed from the respondents such

as their demographic profile (age, sex, occupation, and highest educational attainment), their

perspective on the extend of use of PPEs and the practices of people in terms of disposal and

recycling of PPEs in their locality such as gloves, masks, and goggles. In addition, the input

includes the association of the extent of use of PPEs with the disposal and recycling practices of
respondents. Second part involve the process done by the researchers. In order to gather data, the

researchers conducted a survey on the chosen participants in Barangay Centro 02 Tuguegarao City,

Cagayan. Third part involves the output of the study wherein the study gathered generally, the

assessment of respondents on the extent of use, disposal and recycling practices of PPEs in the

Barangay Centro 02 Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Specifically, the study covers the Sustainable

Developmental Goals (SDGs) and a policy under the healthcare management manual. SDG 11

which is the sustainable cities and communities that aims to make a sustainable environment

especially for urban areas. Through recycling and proper waste disposals of our PPEs this

pandemic, sustainability can be achieved. SDG 12 which is the responsible consumption and

production aims to ensure that toxic wastes like PPE and pollutants are disposed carefully in order

to protect natural resources. SDG 13, the climate change, aims to have a cleaner, more-resilient,

and low-carbon environment which reduce the probability of climate change through our proper

use, disposal, and recycling of PPEs. Lastly, a policy under the healthcare waste management

manual aims to promote that PPEs should be used once and needed to be discard immediately in a

proper way and place to prevent the spread of infection.
