Types of Karma

A) Intention

1. Sakama: “belong to me” nurtures the ego of the mind, sense of possesses, work to
acomplish things. Succes is determined by others and satisfaction is personal.

2. Nishkama: selfless kind of act. Offer without expecting nothing in return. Single
consciousness

B) Timeline

1. Sanchita: The Karma you have performed in the past and affects your present.
EXAMPLE: Bad parenthood affects a child while growing up and becoming and
adult.
2. Prarabhda: Is the present moment, is going to create the future that you will live. The
present moment is the only thing you can control. If the is oneness and equanimity in
your mind, and your actions then you are doing positive karma yoga.
3. Agami: the future, something you cannot control, this are just principles of human
existence.

1. Desire - Iccha

to fulfill the needs of everyone, there is not enough to fulfill the greed

2. Hatred - Dwesha
⁃ is a feeling that creates emotion sin the mind, usually negative feelings
⁃ it can reflect in the physical appearance
⁃ getting rid of hatred by cultivating the feeling of contentment
⁃ change is the only constant in this world
3. Happiness - Sukha
⁃ extreme happiness that comes fro material objects is temporary
⁃ one must rather pursue a constant feeling of contentment that is not dependent on
material achievements
4. Sadness- Dukha
⁃ negative emotions: feeling of weakness, vulnerability
⁃ nothing in this world is permanent

All this obstacles give power to the mind, we should therefore focus on attaining
power from the mind in order to control it how we want it. Train the mind to
experience contentment in order to remove this obstacles.
