The Visayan Folk Song Usahay means
"sometimes" it is all about love, a girl who
is very in love. Sometimes she dreamed
that they are both in love with each other.
In our life we always dream of something
that we want to happen or experience in
reality. But sometimes it is hard for us to
tell what we need or what we feel to a
person. It is because of being shy or being
afraid of rejection, and having lack of
confidence. That's why when we miss
someone, we just think of them every
second, minute, hour and every single
day. We think of what he/she doing, did
he/she eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
anything that we are concerned with
someone. Even when we are going to
sleep that someone is always in our mind
and because of that we are having a hard
time to sleep. Until the time we got asleep
eventually they would stay in our dreams.
I can relate to this because, I experience
dreaming with someone I want to be with.
OF LIFE AND STORM
This poem Of Life And Storm tell us how
powerful and devastating the storm is.
How it affects everything and give pain
and sufferings to all, we are all afraid how
storm will leave everything disarray. While
the storm ruin everything, the only thing
that we can do is to pray asking for his
guidance and protection. Hoping that the
storm will end soon and a morning calm
will come, and everything will be back on
how it should be. Truth is, none of us
wants to go through a storm and
experience difficulty in life. It's not just
hurricanes, but storms in our finances, in
our jobs and in our families. If only the
days could be all sunshine and clear skies
that we don't need to worry about
something. But sometimes god uses
difficulty not only to reveal himself but to
shape us to have a deep relationship with
him. Those are the kinds of days we pray
for and the days we think we're entitled to.
It's not just the storms teach, it's that there
are lessons we can only understand in a
storm.

MATUD NILA
The song Matud Nila is a song about a guy
who was discriminated by those people
who surround him, that he is not deserving
for the girl he like. They thought that he
can't make the girl happy because he can't
give all the things she want. Other people
believe that money or fame could make a
person be contented or it can be a reason
so that relationship will work. It is true that
love can do anything, sacrifices and
everything. We don't care what others want
to say about us, we should not think about
what will say about us. As long as we knew
that we are not affecting other people. Like
this song, the people has many bad
impression for his love to a woman. while
the guy doesn't know that he is already
abusing his life just to love the girl, who
doesn't love him back. That's why
sometimes it is good that there is someone
who can approach us to make us realized
everything.
PINTADOS
The Pintados is a cultural and religious
celebration in Tacloban based on the
traditions of the old "pintados" warriors,
who used to paint their bodies. As time
went I learned to see that tattoos were part
of the lives of the local people. The tattoos
even became a sign of beauty and the old
things made way for the new ones. The
Pintados help us to see how necessary and
reasonable the customs of the country's
ancestors were. It also gives us the chance
to experience culture directly in a way that
doesn't happen very often. The different
activities and events that the local put
together, shows how important the festival
is. The Pintados wants to show and share
the rich cultural heritage of all Leyte and
Samar through songs and dances. It
reminds people the time before the
Spaniards came in the Philippines. The
event also reminds us their way of life and
their religion. In fact, they can show their
rich culture just by painting different
shapes, figures, and colors on their bodies.
