 Tell the learners, According to Stewart in his book,
“Packaging as an Effective Marketing Tool”, the “pack”
is the silent salesman.
 Ask the learners: “What do you think is the meaning of
that statement? Give examples.
 Generate ideas from the learners.

 Given that the class has completed the preparation of


the processed food/preserved food and packaging of
product, the class will assume that all of the products
have been sold. How then will the class know if they
have gain profit or gains.
 Today, the class will learn how to compute expenses,
sales, and profit.
 The simplest formula for profit or gains:
Total income – Total
Expenses = Net profit

Total income – sales of goods

Total expenses – include all costs related to the


sale transactions such as production costs, marketing
and all other incidental expenses (transportation,
utilities such as water, electricity, LPG ect,)

 How do you compute the cost and selling price of the
finished product?
 How will you know if you are earning or not?
 Computing for the cost and profit
 How would you know if you earned or not from your
project? First, you have to compute the total cost of
the product. Then, compute for the mark-up in order
for you to determine the selling price to compute for
the profit earned. Deduct cost from total amount
sold. The excess amount less the cost is the profit.

 What are the most important records to be included
in keeping a record?
 How is keeping records help you?
 Keeping of records of production sales is very
important to a business, it may be written or in print
doesn’t matter. The important is you have the record
to keep track of money that goes out(expenses) and
money that comes in (sales), now you can conclude if
it’s gaining or losing.
 You may record your sales on weekly basis, monthly
or quarterly, make sure you keep all the receipts of
purchased and other bills for recording purposes.
