Sarawak’s Pride Story

Submission
A record-attempt to showcase Sarawak’s Pride by gathering the most number of short
stories and messages of unity from Sarawak in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) to
mark the 31st anniversary of Kuching City and its 4th year as a City of Unity.

I enter the house. My uncle spots me and rushes over. My family walks in after me. We greet each other. In the
living room, I see my cousins and a few other guests.

Today is the third day of Raya. My uncle invited us a few days ago for an open-house celebration. We were
really excited to meet him and my cousins again since they are really fun people, so when we woke up this
morning, we rushed to get ready.

It's time to eat. Everyone lines up at the beginning of the buffet table. I see many people - Muslims, Bidayuhs,
Chinese, and even an American man who is my uncle's neighbour. All of different cultures and religions, together
in one house.

This is unity, right in front of my eyes. A blessing on a Raya day.
