RUNFLAT method
• Runflat insert function: If the tyre becomes deflated (e.g.
ambush, natural puncture), the tyre insert supports the tyre
and enables the vehicle to continue its journey until its
passengers and contents reach a safe place.

• Normal driving conditions: While the tyre is fully inflated, the


Runflat insert has no effect on the performance or handling of
the vehicle.

• According international standards, the Runflat insert has to


be operational for up to 50 km driving distance in deflated
mode.

FINABEL European Standard
• On-road test: two flat tyres, one from each axle deflated, driving the following
speed/distance:

• Max speed of the vehicle up to 80km/h for 3 km.

• 50 km/h for 10 km.

• 25 km/h for 37 km.

• Total: 50 km.

• Off-road test: Two flat tyres, one from each axle deflated, driving 25 km/h
for 2 hours.

• The test is deemed successful if the tyre remains on the wheel, no matter
the tyre or the RUNFLAT condition. They may be totally damaged.

• After driving in run flat mode, the deflated tyre has to be replaced by a new
one since its structural integrity may be affected.
RUNFLAT American standard
• On road test: Two flat tyres, one from each axle deflated, driving
50 km/h for 1 hour.

• Off-road test: Two flat tyres, one from each axle deflated, driving
25 km/h for 2 hour.

• The test is deemed successful if the tyre remains on the wheel, no


matter how bad he tyre or the RUNFLAT condition becomes. They
may be totally damaged.

• After driving in run flat mode, the deflated tyre has to be replaced
by a new one since its structural integrity may be affected.

• Goldtec has released two solutions for the 2 main


wheel configurations:

• Single piece wheel, lightweight forged MAG/Aluminum wheel or


steel wheel with rotary RUNFLAT insert, for on/off road missions.

• Two and multi piece steel wheel or forged Aluminum with bead
lock RUNFLAT insert, for on/off road missions.

Eco Static RunFlat
3-segment static system bolted tightly around the wheel rim which
remain fixed and keep the tyre in place whether inflated or not
– specifically for bolt-on flange (2-piece) steel or alloy wheels
between 16” and 22.5” in diameter and all tubeless tyre sizes
2-piece Demountable Wheel
• Bolt-on flange wheel used as the optimum solution
for off-road traction.
• Alloy 20” wheel + Static RUNFLAT inserts typically
weigh 80 kg each (without the tire and on a vehicle
without CTIS).
• Steel 20” wheel + Static RUNFLAT inserts typically
weigh 130 kg each (without the tire and on a vehicle
without CTIS).
• Various endurance tests have been carried out
successfully on Static RUNFLAT systems on-road and
off-road on 4x4 and 6x6.
• Easy maintenance, no need for bespoke & expensive
tools.
• Shock absorbing and ballistic resistant material.

around the wheel rim which remain fixed on the rim when the
tyre is fully inflated but slip anticlockwise to the forward
rotation of the tyre and wheel when the tyre is deflated.
Main advantage over multi-piece configurations: typically over
25% weight saving in the RunFlat insert.
Single piece wheel
• Single piece wheel H2 (with two safety humps) type
used as the optimum solution for minimum wheel
and RUNFLAT insert weight.
• SANDCAT’s 19.5” Aluminum wheel + Dynamic
RUNFLAT weigh 38 kg each (without the tire and on
a vehicle without CTIS).
• Special H2, two humps used as tyre bead lock in
deflated mode. Same insert can be used for more
than 300 km with no damage (not with the same
tyre) as trialed by PLASAN tests, 150km by
Mercedes.
• Easy and safe fitting, no need for special tools.
• Shock absorbing and ballistic resistant material.
