Consider the following subjects for progress report of class V at a school

The grading policy defined over total obtained percentage is given in the following table:

Now consider the provided data1.txt file and see the data in it.

Task(s)

1. Import the data into Excel using “Text-to-Column” command in MS Excel.


2. Prepare separate sheets for each section, i.e. students of section A in one sheet and those of
section B in another sheet.
3. Sort the students in ascending order of their Roll No in each section.
4. Add “Total” and “%” columns to the right of the marks of “History”. Calculate total
obtained marks and percentage of each student using formulas.
5. Add the “Grade” column to the right of “%” column. Use formulas to determine the grade
for each student according to the policy mentioned in above table.
6. Format dells containing data in single solid borders for each cell.
7. Use “Conditional formatting” command in Excel to change the background color to RED
and foreground to “WHITE” of the “Grade” of the students who got “F” grade.
8. Use “Conditional formatting” command in Excel to change the background color to
BLACK and foreground to “GREEN” of the “Grade” of the students who got “A” grade.
9. Add the Row “Mean” to calculate averages of all subjects, total marks and % columns.
10. Add the Row “StD. Dev” to calculate standard deviations of all subjects, total marks and %
columns.
11. Add the Row “Median” to calculate medians of all subjects, total marks and % columns.
12. Add the Row “Max” to calculate maximum of all subjects, total marks and % columns.
13. Add the Row “Min” to calculate minimum of all subjects, total marks and % columns.
14. Draw a bar graph showing number of students in each grade. Give the chart title as
“Students’ Grade Comparison” in Times New Roman, boldface, size 18. Provide X-Axis
title as “Grades” and display grades on X-Axis. Display Y-Axis label as “No. of Students”
and display number of students in each grade on Y-Axis. Also show the Legends.
15. Change the orientation of both the sheets to “Landscape” and ensure that all the data is on
Page 1 and the chart is on Page 2.
