Activities in Arts Appreciation

Activate

I draw an imitation of "The Scream" by Edward Munch and to justify that it was worth 10 million
pesos, I might consider several factors. One factor could be the level of skill and technique
demonstrated in the drawing. I was able to accurately reproduce the style and composition of
Munch's painting while also adding my own artistic flair, this could add value to the drawing. This
could involve demonstrating my knowledge of Munch's techniques, style, and use of composition, as
well as my ability to replicate these elements in my own drawing. Another factor could be the
uniqueness of the drawing. If my imitation was the only one of its kind or if it was part of a limited-
edition series, this could also increase its value. This could involve researching the prices of similar
works by Munch or other well-known artists, as well as the demand for Munch's work among
collectors and art enthusiasts. Ultimately, the worth of a work of art is often subjective and can
depend on a variety of factors, including the artist's reputation, the historical context of the piece,
and the emotional response it elicits in viewers.

C. Can an artist be an artisan, and vice-versa?

Indeed, one can be both an artist and an artisan. Due to the fact that they produce handmade,
original pieces of art, many artists are also artisans. A painter or sculptor, for instance, may be
regarded as both an artist and an artisan because they produce unique, handcrafted paintings or
sculptures. However, not all artists are artisans because some employ digital media or other non-
handmade methods to produce their works of art. However, an artisan can also be an artist. For
instance, a potter who makes utilitarian handcrafted pottery could be seen as both an artisan and an
artist because they also produce works of art. But not all artisans are artists, as some of them make
handcrafted items that aren't truly works of art.

WORKSHEET #2

Original Work :

“Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day?” by William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Translated Work:

At madalas ay tinatablan ng kulay-ginto ang kanyang mukha;
At ang bawat magandang bagay ay minsan ay nagiging hindi maganda,
Sa pamamagitan ng tadhana, o sa pagbabago ng panahon;

WORKSHEET #3

There could be many reasons for choosing a duck as the subject of a sculpture. For me, I have a
personal interest in ducks, a desire to capture the unique characteristics or personality of a
particular duck, and a desire to depict the beauty or grace of ducks in general. My grandfather has a
lot of ducks in our backyard. The choice of a duck as the subject of a sculpture are influenced by the
symbolism or cultural significance of ducks in general, ducks are often seen as symbols of
perseverance, adaptability, and resourcefulness, as they are able to live in a variety of environments
and can find food in many different places. They are also known for their strong family bonds and
their ability to mate for life, which can make them symbols of loyalty and commitment.

WORKSHEET # 4

Ever Bilena Power Curl Mascara and Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara are both designed to curl and
lengthen the lashes, giving the wearer a more dramatic and defined eye look. One key difference
between the two products is their formula. Ever Bilena Power Curl Mascara is made with a water-
based formula that is said to be lightweight and easy to remove, while Maybelline Hypercurl
Mascara is made with a waterproof formula that is more long-lasting and resistant to smudging or
flaking which holds the interest longer. Another difference is the brush design. The Ever Bilena
Power Curl Mascara has a curved brush that is designed to hug the lashes and give them a natural-
looking curl, while the Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara has a cone-shaped brush that is meant to
separate and lift the lashes for a more dramatic curl. In terms of packaging, both mascaras come in a
traditional tube format, but the Ever Bilena Power Curl Mascara has a sleek, matte black tube with
silver accents, while the Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara has a glossy black tube with pink and silver
accents. In my opinion, the product that captures attention first is the Maybelline Hypercurl
Mascara, based from the colorful packaging that is pleasing to the eye. It's difficult for me to say
which mascara brand would make a more lasting impression on buyers, as personal preferences and
experiences can vary greatly from person to person. Both products are well-known brands that have
been on the market for a long time, and both have their own unique features that may appeal to
different people but Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara has more lasting impressions to buyers as it has
more sales and reviews than the other product. Overall, both mascaras offer similar benefits and are
designed to enhance the appearance of the lashes, but they differ in their formulas and brush
designs, as well as their packaging aesthetics.
