In this unit I learned how to dilate a figure on a coordinate plane, you do this by multiplying every

coordinate by scale factor which is also called mapping. I learned how dilations and functions are
related; Dilation is a type of transformation that may result in an identical image to the original image
but with a different size. A function graph is said to be dilated when it has been stretched far from an
axis or moved in the direction of the axis. The function enlarges yet maintains its original shape
throughout the method. I learned how to tell if polygons are similar, If the corresponding sides of two or
more polygons have a constant ratio and their corresponding angles are congruent, or if they are
proportional, then two or more polygons can be said to be comparable. I also learned how relationships
are formed by corresponding sides if similar polygons, assuming the corresponding sides have the same
proportion (ratio), The scale factor in similar polygons is the ratio of one side to the corresponding side
of another polygon. I learned how to tell if two triangles are similar, if both of a triangle's angles are
equal, two triangles are said to be similar. The same ratio exists between the corresponding sides. I
learned the converse of the triangle proportionality theorem Utilize the knowledge that AD over AB is
equal to AE over AC. Using the reflexive property demonstrates that angle equals itself. next
demonstrate how the SAS similarity postulate applies to the two triangles. Because the equivalent
angles of related triangles are congruent, it demonstrates that angle ADE and angle ABC are congruent.
Then demonstrate that DE is parallel to BC using the Postulate of Corresponding Angles in the Reverse.
