Good health entails more than just being free of illness.
Focusing on well-being and resilience is critical in developing a holistic approach to health that addresses both physical and psychological states.
The nutritional status of learners has been predominantly good over
the last six years, but there may still be children suffering from malnutrition, which affects the increase in School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) beneficiaries over time. It has been observed that lower grades have the greatest number of recipients where factors such as family food security and parenting influence nutritional status related to family care and food availability.
Bullying has been a serious issue. Teachers and learners experience
bullying in a variety of ways, including making threats, spreading rumors, physically or verbally assaulting someone, and purposefully excluding someone from a group. Impact students' social environments, their level of fear, as well as their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A functional child protection committee is in place in school to manage Child Protection (CP) cases for the protection of children and the promotion of their rights.
The Kindergarten and Grade 6 classrooms in particular flooded during
times of heavy rain due to the school's low lying locations. Supplies and equipment for safety and emergencies are provided.
Ensure the health and safety of learners and school personnel,
including prevention of COVID-19, is developed and implemented.
