The Change of Youth

Good morning everyone especially to my gorgeous teacher ma’am

Jenny and also my classmates. It's an honor to have the opportunity to talk in
front of you today.

Each of us has different questions that cross our minds about youth
then and now. Jose Rizal said "The youth is the hope of the people"or/
Kabataan ang pag-asa ng Bayan", is that true? Why are the activities of the
young people gradually disappearing? Are the youth today still the hope of our
nation or are they the only ones who are causing problems to our nation?

The times are changing and it is changing fast. With the rapid growth
of the economy and the development of human knowledge, it also rapidly
changed the world cycle. It seems as if the good and the bad have suddenly
been replaced. Parents no longer know what and who you hang out with or
what kind of people their children hang out with. So even if they are unaware
of the gradual change in your behavior, no one is sending a way to solve it.
One of the reasons why a young person changes is because of modern
technology and modern use of things.

The youth then and now have a big change and distance in behavior,
habits, attitudes, clothes, feelings and other things. It is said that the young
people were more respectful and obedient because just one look from a parent
at their child would make them quiet or obey immediately. The young people
back then were very sincere in their hearts and minds about what they were
doing, had respect for others, had no vices and were godly; on the other hand,
today's youth are less respectful and force themselves to be trendy and change.
When it comes to clothing, the young people of that time were more careful in
grooming their bodies and very conscientious in obeying the law, so to speak,
the youth of that time had self-discipline while today they do not notice or
follow the good things or behavior.

In the olden days young people were always at home especially

women. They help their parents with housework. At that time, they could
study better because back then there was no such thing as the Internet,
Televison, Cellphones and others. They will not growl or join their friends
without their parents' permission. If they come along, the parents make sure
that they are only across the house and having fun while playing with friends.
Whereas now, they are not afraid of anyone. In other words, their heads are
really hard. Even if the parents don't allow them to go with their friends, they
don't really follow so sometimes what usually happens is that many young
girls get pregnant early and many are also addicted to bad habits. Parents are
not the only ones who are lacking because young people follow their wishes
without parental contact. And they will play online games or browse the
internet. And sometimes they don't go to school to study, instead of studying
they hang out everywhere.

Today's youth are aware of the modern era, so they are more advanced
in reasoning that sometimes answers to their parents. Doesn't follow orders
anymore because the answer now is always "later" or "just a moment". Very
daring in what they do because they give more value to things that have bad
consequences. There are also many people who are friendly and hardworking
among the youth of the past and present.

When it comes to women's clothing then and now. Back then, women's
clothing could only show the eyes or maybe the head and neck, but now many
changes have taken place. If you can see, they will almost take off their
clothes that you will see their soul. Often those who wear it post it on their
social media accounts so that many people can see it.

Back then, letters are written on a piece of paper to express our

feelings. In the present, feelings are posted online through social media
channels such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. Young people nowadays
use social media to court a woman while in the past a man went to a woman to
offer a song that means love. But still, the youth was and is the hope of our
people. Both of them are patriotic, loving, helpful in the ideals of life. As long
as we remember to avoid changing just to be trendy in something. The use of
technology or the modern event, we must still have discipline in ourselves,
whether young or not. Some might think that things were better then than now.
Let's not forget where we started and where we came from. Let's not let it just
disappear and change. Because this reminds us Filipinos how fun and beautiful
our history, traditions and culture are. And that will be all thank you.
