Do you agree with Rizal’s presentation of our pre-colonial history? Why or why not?

Yes, I agree about Rizal’s presentation of pre-colonial. Rizal used his works to demonstrate pre-colonial
history. He stressed the distinctions in culture between the Spanish and the Filipinos. He was hinting that
the history of the Filipino people existed long before the arrival of the Spanish. He said that the spread of
Spanish culture in the Philippines had not improved the quality of life for the native population or raised
living standards. Using Morga's book Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas (Events of the Philippine Islands),
Rizal wished to teach the Filipino people about their pre-Spanish history. In the face of rising nationalism,
he further highlighted their genuine culture and identity.
How did Rizal envision the pre-colonial Filipinos? Why?
Rizal addressed the imperialist perception of Filipino laziness by delving into pre-colonial history. The
evidence showed that pre-colonial Filipino society was comparatively sophisticated, indicating that
colonialism was to blame for the nation's alleged backwardness.
