Why did Rizal and del Pilar fight during their stay in Europe?

In the late 1890s, Rizal and Del Pilar formed a rivalry. The difference in editorial stance between del Pilar
and Rizal was mostly to blame for this. On January 1, 1891, a gathering in Madrid included about 90
Filipinos. They made the decision to choose a Responsable (leader). The Pilaristas and the Rizalistas were
split into separate camps. The first week of February 1891 saw the holding of the first
Responsibleelections. Although Rizal won the first two elections, he didn't receive the necessary two-
thirds of the vote. When del Pilar pushed Mariano Ponce to appeal to the Pilaristas, Rizal was elected
responsible. Knowing that the Pilaristas did not share his political ideas, Rizal graciously declined the
position and delivered it to del Pilar.
How did Rizal honor the GomBurZa in El Filibusterismo?
The Ilustrado movement was inspired by the three priests, and Jose Rizal honored them in his second
book, El Filibusterismo. Jose Rizal was driven by a desire to bring about change and secure equality for
Filipinos. He felt obligated to exact revenge on those who had died in the name of change because of the
injustices he had witnessed. Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora (Gomburza), all
Filipino priests, were executed on the grounds of insurrection by the Spanish colonists, which gave rise to
the Propaganda Movement.
