Why did Rizal and del Pilar fight during their stay in Europe?

Marcelo Del Pilar and Jose Rizal formed a conflict in the late 1890s. This was almost entirely
awaited to the unevenness in editorial policy between del Pilar and Rizal. Over 90 Filipinos call
together in Madrid on January 1, 1891. They decided to elect a Responsable leader. The camps
were divided into two groups which are the Pilaristas and the Rizalistas. The first Responsable
elections were held in the first week of February 1891. Rizal won the first two elections, but the
votes cast for him fell short of the essential two-thirds vote fraction. Rizal don’t want to publicly
fight the Spaniards because he believe the lack in materials and preparation to engage in any
armed revolution is unwise. Rizal was voted Responsible when Mariano Ponce, persuaded by
del Pilar, appealing to the Pilaristas. Rizal respectfully turn down the job and gave it to del Pilar,
knowing that the Pilaristas contradict with his political convictions.

How did Rizal honor the GomBurZa in El Filibusterismo?

The three martyred priests influenced the Ilustrado movement and Jose Rizal paid tribute to
them in his second novel, “El Filibusterismo” and to expose the injustices during Spanish
colonial rule. Jose Rizal was motivated by the desire to make reforms and accomplish equality
for the Pilipino. With the maltreatment he had observed, he felt constrain to revenge the death
of those who had given their lives in the name of reform. The death of the GomBurZa created
the Propaganda Movement. Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora
(GomBurZa), all Filipino priests, were killed on allegations of rebellion by the Spanish colonizers.
The GomBurZa’s execution was an important event in Rizal’s life as it was one of the factors that
contributed to his growing disillusionment with Spanish rule and his decision to be more
actively involved in the Propaganda Movement.
